yeah but you can't just simply rid a military of power.... in my opinion no country should have gotten this powerful if anyone ever truely hoped for somewhat of a utopia.
but reality is humans are capitalistic.... we're an aggressive species. Like i said earlier someones gotta have the bigger penis. Good situation? no no no reality.... yes. If we take away a cops gun a criminal will take advantage of it. Lets say all nukes are disposed of tomorrow.... the next day a knowledgeable criminal will be making an illegal one. Once again rough situation |

Then what's the point of creating a department of homeland security with no authority over the intelligence agencies? I thought this was designed to address the accountablity issues recently brought up in the Rowley memo. ------------------ http://www.ecrannoir.fr/stars/actric...es/dalle02.jpg [This message has been edited by 13 (edited 06-12-2002).] |

I think most americans are well aware of what's going on... i know i'm perfectly aware of what's going on. I know we exploit our position in the world.... the difficulty is I've grown up with this exerted amount of freedom and wouldn't give it up for anything. ------------------ www.mw-dnb.com |

As for freedom... it's being taken away because you won't stand up to your corporations, who enjoy cutting off rights for profit. Whoo-whee, that's an exerted amount of freedom alright! |

OKEE
long threads like these remind me of multicolored carefree apes running a marathon through the Swiss Alps while chanting "We Will Rock You" a cappella. [This message has been edited by Smiley33 (edited 06-12-2002).] |

A) I'm sorry the americans you talk to are morons.... the ones i speak with on a daily basis are fairly educated. But i guess it's who your surround yourself by. B) I've yet to have any of my freedoms taken away ever... nor have I felt anything in the way of big corporations taking anything away from me. So pardon me when I say you're talking out your ass. Corporate America has very little direct effect over middle class America thus the reason middle class America doesn't sympathize with less fortunate persons. |

If you want to look at farmers and talk about true corruption to the middle class lets look at the outrageous trade agreements other countries want that put our farmers out of work. It's simply justified because it is a foreign country and not a foreign company. However if you think about it the government of a foreign country used as such is simply a glorified corporation. So which is more influential on the middle class? Which one is the middle class more likely to CHOOSE to feel? don't get me wrong im not saying there is absolutely no corporate influence im just saying its not entirely negative and not entirely worth whining about if you step back and look at the cycle of human life. My life does not change when two corporations merge. My life does not change when something like Enron happens. ------------------ www.mw-dnb.com |
