I actually miss CC... I took a huge 2 year break between CC and university and when I got here it was almost a bit of a shock. I definitely should've focused more of my attention on my general ed before going to a university. It got a lot harder and more expensive :\

i feel inadequate because everyone's all "yeah, i liked cc BEFORE I WENT TO UNI" and i'm all, "but i don't really want to go to uni."

Don't sweat it. If I had my way I would've stayed at CC forever!

Well... That's not entirely true. Going to a university offered me options in my major I never would've had available to me at a low budget CC... But I don't think it's bad that you don't want to go to a university. Sometimes a little bit of school is enough school. If you can get a job that pays decent and makes you happy off just an AA, then more power to you.

yeah, like...i could be at my current job and support myself and even if/when B and i got married. both of us working would be just fine.

but, with a piddly 2 year degree, i can feel free to move and get something higher up in the security field, not necessarily just a uniformed donut-holder.

Heh. Today was the second day of school for me and I definitely had a stress attack. This is the first semester where I basically have to sack up and deal with all the work instead of dropping my least favorite class like I always do. I already have photography assignments due next week that I have no idea what I'm going to do for, nor when I'll find the time to do them inbetween all the readings and writings I have to do, too. HALP

Yeah, stress stinks. Good for you if you can (and obviously, you can) get around that.

Haha. Nathan, you sound like me. I always denounce school altogether for the first week of classes. I literally think to myself during each class, "You know what? I can't take this... I don't have to. Fuck school. I should just drop out. Who's gonna care? I'll do something else. Lots of people don't go to college, why should I?" etc.

Yeah this is me exactly. And then when I inevitably stay enrolled I'm behind in all of the classes because I sat in the back thinking that to myself for the first 2 weeks.

i'm going to have to take a placement test to see if i can even take year 2 of german. @ my old school the first two semesters added up to 6 hrs whereas here they make 10. i might just take hours 5-10 of german since there are no babes in my class as it is anyway

Well at least you get that two weeks of bliss. I'm just miserable the whole time. The worst part of all is that I'm taking photography this semester. I just know I'm going to waste precious hours that should be spent on my academic classes in order to spend an unnecessary amount of hours in the dark room.

As boring as those classes were I miss only showing up for exams and passing the class.

I went from CC to Uni back to CC. The only difference is the money really. I dont think Ive been this nervous before a semester before. It sound like me and Kimmy are in the same boat.

other than working for my degree, i'd love to take photography (my photos now are all cliche'd b+w pictures of abandoned buildings with a digicam), spanish, and some computer class.

good luck with the work load, though. you can do it. your photos seem so effortless.

Yeah, I've definitely never been this nervous, aside from the usual first week jitters. Usually, once the courses get rolling I take an admittedly arrogant approach to class.

haha, Joe. Are you gonna lay out your outfit on the couch the night before?!

My school is funny because you can tell who all the freshmen and other incoming students are right off the bat-- anyone bundled up in sweaters and other cold weather wear in the middle of August here just screams "noob!" I walked to class today in a flowy tanktop and sandals thinking I was going to die if it got any hotter (which it did) and then I wondered what I'd do if I was back home (where it's 95+ still). I'd probably die for reals.

Humboldt, CA.

A lot of the incoming students (myself included) come from the hotter regions of California and aren't acclimated to the coastal weather just yet. It sure makes going home a pain in the butt, though!
