Default I think my dog's death seriously fucked me up

I was just comparing before it happened to now, and I'm a hugely different person.

That's pretty much it.

It happened maybe 6 months ago. Before it happened i had a lot of friends and i was a really outgoing positive person.
Since it happened I rarely have any human contact of any kinds and just live routinely and mundanely.

well it was so long ago, i'm over the loss. I'm just facing this weird fucked up thing that happened to my personality since it happened. I feel like an old widow.

Sorry you lost your dog (seriously)

He is trying to communicate with me from the other side. He's very happy right now and fucking 72 virgins. Don't be sad anymore.

my dog of 15 yrs died last february. definitely was a paradigm shift of thought in me about mortality and all that shit. yet, yknow,.... he was a dog. so.... kind of goofy to get overly emotional.

but i really miss him though

maybe the change in your personality was the cause to your dogs death and not an effect

Sorry to hear Matt, it's a tragic thing and it never gets any easier.

It doesn't matter if it's a dog or a family member, they become family members and life seems a lot emptier without them around. They're innocent creatures so thinking about them suffering or imagining their last moment of confusion is absolutely heartbreaking. I still cry because I miss Jack so much.

It's definitely something that can change you.

Was he there for a large part of your childhood? You could have associated him with your childhood. I had this cat named Violet (she was ugly/funny looking, I have posted pics of her on here before) growing up. I can't remember NOT having her... I think we got her when I was 4 or 5. Anyway... she died the last semester of my senior year in college. Man I was so uspet about it, and none of my friends understood. To them it was "just a cat." I think part of my childhood died with her.

I'm glad I have friends that understand that stuff and don't think it's "just an animal". I'd punch someone if they tried to give me shit for being so torn up about it.

I guess you have to have a problem
If you want to invent a contraption
First you cause a train wreck
Then you put me in traction

Well, first came an action
And then a reaction
But you can't switch around
For your own satisfaction
Well, you put my house down, then got mad
At my reaction

Well, in every complicated situation
You're the human relation
Makin' sense of it all
Take a whole lot a concentration

Well, you can blame my baby
For her pregnant ma
And if there's one of these
On the order for laws
It's that you just can't take the effect
And make it the cause

Well, you can't take the effect
And make it the cause
I didn't rob a bank
Because you made up a law
When you people robbin' Peter
Don't you blame Paul
Can't take the effect
And make it the cause

I ain't the reason that you gave me no reason to return your call
You built a house of cards and got shocked when you saw them fall
Well are you sayin' I'm innocent?
In fact the reverse
But if you're headin' to the grave
You don't blame the hearse
You're like a little girl yellin' at her brother
'Cause you lost his ball

Well you keep blamin' me for what you did
And that ain't all
The way you clean up a wreck
Is enough to get one pause
You seem to forget
Just how this song started
I'm reactin' to you because you left me broken-hearted
See, you just can't take the effect
And make it the cause

Can't take the effect
And make it the cause
I didn't rob a bank
Because you made up a law
Blame people robbin' Peter
Don't you blame Paul
Can't take the effect
And make it the cause
