let's not forget guys like Brian Pillman and British Bulldog, who weren't even in their 40's when they croaked.

Something HAS to happen now, it's inevitable. Every other wrestling death has been a trivial matter to the mass media. Owen Hart got a bit of coverage because of the nature of how it happened, but almost all other deaths have been caused by some kind of heart failure, overdose or something related to drugs/steroids. This is the one that is going to blow up and make Vince McMahon change his policies, at least I hope it does. The media are latching onto this one because of the sensationalism of a wife and 7 year old being killed in the process. If Benoit hanged himself out of the blue and that was it then this would barely be getting the coverage it is recieving; it'd be like Eddie Guerrero - a small news note on most sites and papers and that's it.
CNN's headline at one point yesterday was 'STEROIDS FOUND IN WRESTLER'S HOUSE OF DEATH' or something like that. If the toxicology reports come back and they find that Benoit did indeed have an abnormal amount of steroid substance in his body at the time then the media are going to run with it

This is so insane. I work Sunday nights and they show a repeat of that weeks Smackdown at like 1am so I usually stay up and watch it. He's such a big personality and the circumstances of this are so fucking strange. What a weird thing to read about....
