I was wondering the same thing. But the new Interpol and Bad Religion haven't leaked and they are coming out the same day. So if one album leaks, you know the others are coming soon.

I can not wait for a leak, because I need an album fix. Besides, I want to order the Japanese version with the bonus track, so it's not like I'm going to be able to pick it up the first day.

If you're on the messageboard, of course you're buying the hard copy for your collection, so I can't wait for a leak.

it probably has been leaked but it will not get mentioned on these boards. Last week their was a fake leak, thread was taken down, then I asked the question, was it genuine leak, that thread was deleted to.

Every review-copy CD nowadays has this long-ass warning on the back about how the company has linked up that CDs audio with whomever received it - editors, reviewers, what have you. They say they can trace a leak back to the person who received the review copy, but who knows, that could be nonsense.

Besides, a conversion to analogue information can do the trick, without concerning getting traced.

Supposedly the watermark is embedded in the audio itself. If you make an analog copy, the watermark will be recorded right along with it, and Warner could do some spectral analysis to pull it out. It would be nice to know the technical details of how the watermark is embedded, i.e. is it a blip repeated every x number of seconds, what frequency is it embedded in, etc.
