Default ISO lodging in Asheville

my friend chris and i will be attending the show on the 6/29 and 7/2. we are looking for an affordable place to stay on the evenings of 6/29-7/2. all we need is a shower and a place to throw our sleeping bags be it on a sofa, a loveseat or on your living room floor. as long as it's under a roof. if you're staying in a hotel you may even want to consider us as travel mates in order to lower the cost of your own accommodations.

we're also a couple really awesome and nice guys.

if you are interested in helping out with a place to stay on any or all of those dates, please send me a message via PM or email me at spiteface83 at hotmail dot com

this might be better suited for the trading forum so mods please move this as you see fit.

How about camping? There's a shitton of lovely campgrounds around Asheville (with quite nice showers, facilities and such) and it's even cheaper than a hostel. That's what my household is doing. Our campground is 5 miles from the OP.

I just booked my hotel room today, I wanted a hotel within walking distance of The Orange Peel, I went with the Best Western Asheville Biltmore, which is about a 1/2 mile from the Peel. According to the sites (i.e. Travelocity, Expedia & Priceline) there are two hotels closer to the Peel than this Best Western. The closest is a Days Inn, but I read some customer reviews about it and they talked about roaches in the rooms and water not working. The second-closest was the Renaissance Hotel, which appeared to be a top 'o the line luxury hotel, the nightly rate was over $200.

(NOTE: If you decide to go with the Best Western, make sure it's the right one: Best Western Asheville Biltmore, address 22 Woodfin St. There are at least two more Best Westerns that will come up in the search results, but these are much further from the Peel.)

someone gave me a good review of the Days Inn on Patton Avenue, extremely close to the venue, lots of parties when acts come through towns take place there. I reserved for 62 bucks.

Went to priceline and named my own price. Put in 2 stars and above in the Asheville area and got a room for $55 at the Crowne Plaza on July 5, which is about 3 miles from the venue.

This place is connected to a top flight golf course and the regular rate is $100 a night, so I think I did decent.

Here is the address for the Crowne Plaza:

1 Holiday Inn Drive
Asheville, NC
28806

thats where i'll be staying, my friend read some bad reviews on-line from afew years ago, but supposedly they've done renovations, and I expect to have a pleasant stay...
and you can't beat that price and proximatey...
