crush was played.

billy on piano and jc on drums.

i got a text from twiggy stardust who is there.

its in an old castle - candle lit.

i asked her to ask Billy why there has been no Gish so far

she replied:

"they just did crush. with just billy on piano and jimmy on drums. how's that for an answer"

Setlist (to be supplemented): A friend (who was there) indicated to me that Billy played Crush with the piano, accompanied by Jimmy. Setlist to be followed (information is not currently dispo)... post there if you have it before me, Ca with the promising air (I slip by in repettes this evening).

it was, but what does this matter in terms of the piano/drum version they played today?

I wonder if this special show in Berlin is gonna be just Jimmy & Billy... seems to me they've kind of avoided talking about the new members/musicians.

I'd bet that at the very least certain topics are off limits!

the majority of dates it was played are in 1992 and 2000, strangely. roughly 10 each, according to SPFC. 4 in 91, 1 in 94, and a tease in 96.

i guess cause billy wants to treat it as "Smashing Pumpkins"

not "1 half of the Smashing Pumpkins plus 2 new members"

he wanted it to be as if it never ended...

makes sense....

still doesnt bring back james tho!

the playing of crush confirms my suspicions regarding the tour thusfar...

During TFE tour, all of you will remember the shit William got for not playing the hits the greater populus knows him for. All the self-rightous rants he went off on...we all remember. For the large festival audience, this is exactly what he is doing...in a manner that seems satirical to me.

The cookie cutter setlists and lack of emotion on stage had seemed fishy to me.

The intimate audience will get the intimate pumpkins...i am now fucking excited to see them in a small venue.

The Fillmore is most certainly open taping, in fact they have a designated taping area in the rear of the room for artists who chose to have open taping performances. I don't know where you kids got the idea that it wasn't.

just received a phonecall from Sebastian:

Highlights:

- complete acoustic set (2 Sets, 90-100 mins)

played: Crush, Daydream (Billy solo), Drown, Gossamer (acoustic, 15mins), Home, Today, Tarantula (solo), 33, Neverlost, Bleeding the Orchid (not correct order, probably not complete)

Some songs only Billy + Jimmy, some songs only Billy + Lisa, some songs complete band

2 Sets, second set mostly Billy solo or with Jimmy

Q+A: You had to write down questions before gig, Questions were chosen.

Band made a lot of jokes, Billy & Jimmy answered, radio reporter asked questions.

More soon, Sebastian trys to find a internet pc
