even one of those events would have been entertaining enough, but stringed together like that its pretty compelling.

the whole plot in general is great. i loved when the camera zoomed out a little bit and revealed this huge, uniform mass of water buffalo all coming to the rescue of the calf. its like they caught their breath, regrouped, and decided that together they could thrash the baby snatchers.

it was also pretty cartoonish at times, i thought. when the buffalo first saw the lion it had this weird exaggerated startle, the initial werid-momentum tackle of the calf, and the lion being hit up in the air and everything also. isnt this all so surreal? my immediate impulse is to think its fake but i know it isnt.

i also was really mad at the crocodiles. they were the real villains, i thought, fucking opportunists. get your own fucking calf. thats just like a crocodile too, theyre the republicans of animal kingdom

I thought that one of the lions was going to be pushed into the water for the croc...oh well maybe in the sequel.
