Default Zeitgeist

What do you think the album will be about? Do you think it will have a theme? Will Billy get political on us? (I hope so)

I think the album will be intrinsically linked to a new way of looking at music and the world-

Is it a coincedence that the greatest humanist text 'De Pictura' written by Leon Battista Alberti was completed on 7/7 1345.... a treatise which defined perspective and in essence influenced generations of artists in the way they viewed the world?

Yes. Yes it is.

Shame he didn't complete it 8 years earlier on 7/7/1337.

What the fuck? Every artist has the right to express his own opinions in his work.

if you think the pumpkins will be political you really have no idea what band you're talking about.

Didnt the Pumpkins queen say something along the lines of that political events have had an impact on the album, but its far from Pearl Jam for instance

well read up on the zeitgeist theory - of cultural circles and how they feed into contemporary life, and how all fashions etc are doomed to be repeated..

Politics as it is part of the world in which the record is created will feed into it, but perhaps not in obvious ways. I swear im going to post my essay on Warburg here for you all to hate me for.

in that case why not keep lyrics out of it too so as to"keep the art of music pure".

the fucking album title is zeitgeist. seems obvious that it'll be at least quasi-political in nature. get over it, suckaz.

that's so not true! it generally gets better because artsy types get all agitated and make something of themselves.
