Gish was really the album that started my obsession with the band.

start at the begining at pre-gish and work your way up, by the time you have listened to all the albums, b-sides and live shit, zeitgeist should be out.

1. Open a bottle of budweiser or your beer of choice.
2. Put Gish into your stereo system (a mix cd with the harderst rocking songs would work too)
3. Sit back and get comfortable
4. Drink up and rock out.

Oh. Death For Cutie, I'd go with TAFH next, since you enjoyed Mellon Collie.

next get siamese dream (their best album in my eyes), then if ur into more rock get gish or if you enjoy a bit of electronic spice in ur music go for adore (sadly though no jimmy ) then depending on which album you enjoyed more go for the machinas for the techno and do the pisces escariot, aeroplane flies high etc. stuff for the more rock

Start with whatever you happen to acquire first. Someone lent me their copy of MCIS 5 years ago and when I went to the Pumpkins' old website Glass' Theme was on the intro, so I then downloaded Machina II off of the site. Then I bought Adore, Machina, Siamese Dream, Gish and Greatest Hits all at once. PI was the last album I bought...then came the other stuff like Earphoria, Vieuphoria, GH DVD, etc.

go in order dude.

1989 pre-gish is great.download them here:
http://rspaa.niluje.net/data/Demos/R...ime%20Studios/
1991 gish
1993 siamese dream
1994 pisces iscariot (b-sides and outtakes from gish and siamese dream)
mellon collie was 95
1996 the aeroplane flies high
1998 adore (very dark and moody)
2000 machina (highly over produced and not many casual fans like it)
2000 machina 2 (machina was a loosely based concept album that was originally supposed to be released as a double album but adore sold shit and the record company didn't want to release it as a double album because of the adore sales.so as a fuck you to the record company, the band put it out on the internet for free since there was no release)
http://rspaa.niluje.net/data/Miscell.../Machina%20II/

mashed potatoes was kinda like a box set that billy gave to like 9 people.one of those people was darcy but her copy was stolen and was leaked.its got a lot of stuff on it too and its worth a listen.

http://rspaa.niluje.net/data/Miscell...ed%20Potatoes/

i'd say start with the greatest hits and then go in order by year.

Iv got gish now, its a bit to 'pscychadelic' dissapointed, but the prograssion i see in their work right now is from conventional to really original, so i look forward to getting machina (ill get adore last since iv heard its really limp drumming wise).
