Okay guys, I posted a version of this post in another thread. This is aimed in the direction of all the recent complaints and multi paged threads regarding the negative attitude here on netphoria.

Firstly, there isn't a lot of solid news right now, and that is bound to amount to a ton of random banter.

I still find it hard to believe the amount of people who can't get seem to accept that most of the people who express a negative opinion on the board are long time fans who genuinely care about what happens to the band. Like a wise man said, it's similar to being able to point out the faults in an old friend without worries of repercussions.

Fair enough there are a handful of people on this board who are truly useless trolls, but I can only think of, well, less than 5, put it that way.

As for all these multi page threads, I feel like going through and deleting half the posts because they're all saying the same thing - complaining about negativity over one thing or another, regardless of the amount you percieve to be present, does not make you a better fan in any way, so ask yourself, what are you accomplishing aside from adding to the negativity?

If you don't like people who are unafraid of voicing negative opinions, then lemme tell you, you've come to the wrong place. Netphoria is too negative and blamo is too positive? Time to leave the boards, I hear phpbb is free.

So here we go:

If you feel as though someone is shooting you down for expressing a genuine positive opinion, and that bothers you, put them on ignore now. The ignore function is there for a reason. Otherwise you can always use your natural ability to ignore someones posts, or leave.

We all want to hear good music from the band. Full stop. This is a Smashing Pumpkins board, not some random general board where people are hating on the pumpkins. We are all here for a reason.

Having your own negative opinion on anything to do with the band =/= wanting Siamese Dream 2. Neither does it mean that you have never at any time appreciated any of the band, or Billy's, or Jimmy's output.

Some people simply aren't keen on their recent promotional tactics. Some people don't like their recent vague hints, which, lets face it, are bordering on silence, and want to voice their opinion on that. Some may be more vocal and offensive about it than others, but you'll have to learn to live with that if you want to stick around. Look at my reg date, I've been here since 1999 and trust me, there isn't that much of a difference in the place.

Lets get this clear; I love the pumpkins and the JCC. I genuinely enjoy the majority of Zwan and TFE, and LICD is one of the wife's favourite albums of all time. I can never imagine a time where a band will ever mean as much to me as the pumpkins have done, and continue to do.

Some people will mention from time to time that they've disliked the band since adore, or since mellon collie, whatever, that's their opinion, don't read it if you don't want to. If I see someone post something derogatory about something I genuinely like, I'm interested to hear their point of view, points of view are not censored here, and if I disagree, I voice my opinion or I don't reply.

This place will never be a bustling hub of positivity, and it NEVER has been.
