My minidisk player served me quite well until my parents bought an iPod for me. I didn't ever realize how badly I should've taken the time out of the cloudy days to go and buy an iPod. Minidisks were cool, but once you have about 6 or so, they start to get annoying. I never liked using NetMD software, or whatever it was. It was an awful program with a poor layout and interface. Thinking of the process of making MDs makes churning butter look productive.

Exactly, man. It literally took three times longer to burn one CD onto MD as it would to burn it to another CD.

Uploading through realplayer helped, easier interface. But then you were stuck with realplayer.

Oooh man I hate the phrase " I hate ____ something fierce" something fierce

It's right up there with "cool beans" and "I know, right?"

Blu-Ray won't flop as bad as the Betamax, because PlayStation is a popular name. I do not, however, think Blu-Ray will succeed for hi-def movies. HD-DVD won't either. People just bought a DVD player a few years back; they do not want to learn about another kind of optical format this soon. Plus, the fact that there are two competing formats just confuses everyone.

BR-ROM will prove useful for data backup as well. So games and data backup will keep Blu-Ray afloat, but not as well as Sony wants it to. I think it'll fall flat on its face for movies, Sony will lose money there.

PS3's price will make the market all the more competitive this time around. It's too early to know if PS3 will completely flop, but I expect there to be a lot more console sales from MS and Nintendo this gen.

Speaking of, does anybody know how much HD DVD players should be going for at the moment? I've been thkning of buying one for my new HD TV we just bought but I have no idea what an OK one goes for. I'd probably only buy a handful of real HD discs anyway but I thought since I already had the TV and everything ready to go, you know?
