So I'm watching this Roots concert...

And it strikes me that a lot of Roots fans have a lot in common with a lot of Dave Matthews fans. They both consider their fav band the be all and end all of musical expression, and yet they tend to be barely discriminatory little fuckheads when it comes to music in general and are just as likely to cheer for a fine guitar solo as the word "shit."

No I agree. Roots are kind of shit. If you take out the rappers then they're just a lame groove session band. And white college students only buy Roots CD to make it look like they have an ecclectic CD collection and to make it seem like they're less white. If anything owning a Roots CD makes you more white.

BTW, the new 50 cent is off the hook.

I had to work their show last saturday in Toronto.

It was actually not a bad show -- i'm not into the rap thing AT ALL, but it didn't seem too bad -- well, the first 45 minutes or so. Then it started getting repetitive.

btw -- are Dave Matthews and Roots fans like Pumpkins fans? hmmm...
