i wouldnt call it weak by a long shot, its one of my favorite books. the grand inquisitor puts it behind crime and punishment and the idiot, though

Crime and punishment is by Dostoyevsky too? Oh man I've read that as well, that was when I was 14.

i just got this message from a girl i was going with. she stopped talking to me, as part of a process of emotional detachment, so she could more easily fly to new york to spend two weeks with a man she once lived with in edinburgh. "you've been often on my mind lately. i'm reading a new book that reminds me, sometimes painfully, but overwhemlingly achingly, of you. i can't wait to see you. may i see you monday night, i've an unquietable yearning to be with you." she's said a bunch of wacky shit lately and i want to punch her in the face but i want to love her too.

I love anything by Nicholas Sparks or Janet Evanovich, and The Memory Keeper's Daughter.

i had to read a nicholas sparks book last year for english class. it wasn't so bad, so when i found out he was speaking at my school for a free i thought what the hell and decided to go. it was so god damn boring. it would've been horrible sitting there for an hour listening to him, but luckily i fell asleep.

I've been meaning to read Crime and Punishment for about six years now. I think I'll get to it over winter break.

I only read half of Bros. Karamazov. I really liked it but I made the mistake of putting it down right before the part about Mitya and when I came back to it I was pretty lost.

I hate it when that happens. It so much worse when you're in school and you have to take time off of reading to study and you can never get a free day or two to finish the book.

YES. I was almost done with Libra by Don DeLillo over the summer and I'm fearing that when I pick it up again I'm going to forget all the labryinthian conspiracy plotting in that excellent novel. Although, the parts about Lee Harvey Oswald are pretty easy to follow, so it won't be too bad.

I have a bad habit of not finishing books for some reason. I was reading The True History of the Kelly Gang by Peter Carey & I had about 70 pages left and I just stopped reading. It's excellent, too.
