Default the afghan whigs

alright i've held off making this thread, but i'm going to do it now. anyone who has payed attention to my boring posts knows i'm a whigs fan, but what do you all think? personally i have to say that greg dulli is one of the most underrated artists of this generation, and without a doubt THE most consistent. so, two cents anyone?

Faded

ahh shit, while i'm at it, here is the song of the year, and quite possibly the best dulli has ever written:

The Twilight Singers - Bonnie Brae

i only have blackberry belle and i must say it's pretty shitty. afghan whigs are pretty hit or miss. half of the stuff they put out sucked, the other half can be either ok or very good. their best album is black love in my opinion, faded is definitely one of their better tracks.

i can't believe anyone takes that dulli lad seriously though

it's really a pretty solid album all the way through. i still give it an occasional listen but i've not been able to get into any other whig's stuff.

I can't seem to stand Greg Dulli. I think it's because he sounds like he's trying to sound seductive. I feel like I need to shower after hearing him sing.

He's the greasy Italian pedophile relative I've never had.

ya Gentleman has a great vibe to it, nothing incredible but really solid mid-90s stuff

I almost think I like the Twilight Singers better than the WHigs, though both are totally amazing. Im going to see them next month in DC. I never miss a show. 1965 is the best whigs record.

yeah, i really think he just keeps getting better with every album. blackberry belle is my personal favorite. powder burns is fantastic too. have you heard their new ep with mark lanegan that they just released, a stitch in time? it's pretty good shit, although i really don't like lanegan too much.

each one in its own way. i meant that more in songs than in albums. although i just remembered i haven't heard their last one. and that really obscure very first one.

big top halloween (that really obscure first one) isn't very good. it's got a few enjoyable songs, but they hadn't really found their rockin' soul sound yet. their last one (1965) as electron stated is probably their best.

I got the new EP off iTunes. Mark has his moments, but gets old after a while.
