Can we just talk about how great Titus is?
First of all, I don't quite understand why the play is ridiculed so heavily.
Sure, it's a tad ridiculous, but I think that's part of what makes it so endearing. And as for Taymor's movie....it is quite possibly the most visually stunning movie I've ever seen. and the acting is fantastic. And how 'bout that orgy scene? eh?? |

You sure talk about this movie a lot. Sure it's great but haven't you seen anything since then?

Gwyneth is too skinny for my tastes. I like women to have big hips and breasts.

I'd do pretty much any woman right now. Including that overmakeuped Czech woman that won Miss World.

Yeah Titus rocks. I want to get the dvd... The 2 prick brothers were especially good as was Jessica Lange, especially the way she pleads for her sons release at the start. When she says something about "Oh Cruel something something" and she says it in this gutteral almost straining tone, fucking brilliant... (Its hard to explain as I haven't seen it for a while but I remember thinking "wow!") I also loved the black dudes monologue at the end just before he gets put to death and oh oh, when Alan Cumming enters the council chamber completely fucking psycho furious at the papers that Titus is flinging with the bow and arrows...
Um, yeah I'm gonna go on ebay now... |

What cruel, irreligious piety!
which comes shortly after "Sweet mercy is nobility's true badge.." she really did do a fantastic job. in that scene as well as the one right before Lavinia is raped. "The worse to her, the better loved of me." ooh. "If one good deed in all my life I did, I do repent it from my very soul." sweet shit. |
