I'd like to know if online multiplayer will be part of the old games. Like all the N64 Mario Party games and Mario Kart.

i hope so, that would rule. wii needs to make sure they have some cool online thing.

my friend told me there's gonna be something called the wii channel, and like 12 channels, all for different things. one will be to play gamecube and wii games, another will be to surf the net, others will be for oldschool titles, etc. you have to get a virtual console remote control or whatever thats 15 bucks, but that comes with 5000 points, of which 500 points buys you an old school game online. i dont know the situation as well as my friend.

hopefully zelda will keep me occupied with it until the 2007 releases. outside of twilight princess, theres really nothing too interesting being launched with the system. mario, sonic, smash bros, kirby, metroid, etc are all due out sometime in 2007.

oh and have they stopped measuring systems by bits? i know wii is probably a lot less than ps3 and xbox360, but does anyone know how many bits each system is? i think the gamecube, xbox, and ps2 were like 128.

I was expecting a lower price, right now it's really overpriced. I've owned every Nintendo console so far, and I guess I'll buy the Wii eventually, but I'm not too thrilled. It's just a gamecube with minor upgrades in the GPU and RAM. The controller seems like a nice idea on paper, I'll have to wait to see how it is implemented. For games like Wii Sports and some FPS it sounds great, but I have no desire to play a game like Mario with the new controller.

I have enough confidence in Nintendo to know what they are doing with Mario. People have played the demo and have said that its fine.

Also, its rumored that is not the "official" price for america. Just an educated guess at the moment. The japan price is $200.

250 with a game is still pretty good, especially considering those other consoles are going for like at least 300+.

and yeah i know the wii wont match up to the graphics from sony or microsoft but im pretty sure it will hold it's own considering the new playing style and availability of the system.

Yeah, measuring systems by bits stopped after the PSX, N64 and Saturn.
For example, depending on how you look at PS2's architecture, it can either be 128-bit or 64-bit :P

The PS3 is all power and no good games. The Xbox 360 has...well, nothing going for it.

The Wii has a bunch of awesome-looking games and the virtual console thing to boot, as well as a new control system which is hopefully going to kick ass.

I don't know, the Wii seems like the only decent one to me, and I'm excited about it.

I have read tons of articles and am still unclear on what kind of media wii games will come on. Does anyone know? Has it been announced? Some sort of disc obviously, I'm hoping DVD5/DVD9 as opposed to those tiny ones.

the biggest knock on it are that its graphics arent as good as ps3 of xbox360.

but i think the quality of games and the new revolutionary controller will make up for it.
