Then I looked up the differences between the original comics and the movie and was disappointed even more with the changes they made in the movie. You never even get to see V's face! What the hell, the movie tells (and vaguely shows) the audience he was badly burned and disfigured and then you never get the payoff of seeing his current face. Lame.

So basically you wish the movie appealed to a lower common denominator by giving the audience exactly what they would expect. That's cool. I rented it the other night and the guy behind the counter at Blockbuster was like, "Naw man, don't rent this shit, this movie sucked so bad dog." And I said that I liked it a lot and he said, "Shit, really? That shit only had three fight scenes in it, I didn't get it. All I got was that he was pissed at the government for all these murders or something." And I said, "I bet all your movies at home are filled with tricked out cars, big guns, and naked women, right?" And he just smiled and said, "Yeah dog, that's what I'm talkin about."

i still love the movie, but A) they shouldn't have had V profess his love for Evey as he dies (too hollywood) and B) the ending in the graphic novel (where only Evey becomes the new V and she gets a new apprentice) is better.

if you think V For Vendetta was a 'smart' movie, you're probably 15.

what about V was good? it was basically a reved up version of 1984 with a really lame superhero. is someone pointing out that government controls us and has bad intentions really that great of an accomplishment? everyone is acting like this is the first movie or media piece to do this.

most of the people that watch it seem to think it was really intelligent, probably because V used a bunch of big words in that stupid first scene.

The movie was horribly Hollywood, the first hour or so sucked ass even if it picked up slightly towards the end, and there was no point in her destroying the Government building at the end, seeing as the Hitler figure was already dead.

Someone summed it up quite well: "Rage Against The Machine by The Machine".

dude. stop right there. I wished that it appealed to a lower common denominator??? The case is the opposite. One of my complaints was that it tried so hard to appeal to the lowest common denominator. The over the top hammy bad guys. The corniness of V.

The rest of your post is just ad hominem garbage.

I agree with the message of the movie. I really wanted to like this movie. I wish the movie was better. But this movie blew it.

i liked V for Vendetta, but if they wouldve a 1984 movie verbatim, i wouldve preferred that.

hopefully they'd keep it simple and not ruin it with random explosions.

I was confused, you see, cause here I was trying to work out why people were getting so excited about a blatantly bad movie.
But you cleared all that up for me, phew, thanks.

Sorry, that flick gets my gander up.
So, did Hollywood decide that 5 years is long enough for mourning before we got some money out of this tradgedy too?

If we're going by the Academy Awards standard, then has the film been released in USA yet? If its released there in 2007, then its a 2007 movie.
