'CHASING OCTOBER: A fans crusade' is 'SUPER-SIZE ME' of the sports world! Filmmaker and comedian, Matt Liston is giving Cub fans a reason to cheer in 2006! After 4 years, his film "Chasing October: A fan's crusade" is going to make its big screen debut at THE MUSIC BOX THEATRE in Wrigleyville, on August 31st, for charity. Liston began his crusade to get the Cubs to the World Series, "by any means necessary," during the 2002-2005 seasons. With cameras rolling and bull-horn in hand, Liston gains all access to the team, gets the Cubs a player in a trade, and sits near Steve Bartman as the infamous play takes place. Blending his experience from producing docs for Discovery Channel with working on such comedy hits as Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, the Chicago native creates what he describes as a "docu-comedy." The film uses actual documentary footage with scripted scenes to create the 85 minute film. Appearances ******* celebrities Bernie Mac, Gary Sinise, Joe Mantegna, Jeff Garlin, Larry King and more. The film features songs by Chicago musicians Billy Corgan and Sunday Morning Chameleon. As well as the distinguished voice of Chicago news legend Bill Kurtis. Liston and parts of his film will also be featured in HBO's upcoming Chicago Cubs doc premiering Sept 26th. Liston is currently the voice of Discovery Channel's, "Everything You Need To Know" series seen Wednesday nights. SCREENING: AUGUST 31st at the Music Box Theatre at 7:30PM Admission ticket *******s screening and post party. POST PARTY and SILENT AUCTION: Murphy’s Bleachers 10PM –must be 21 or older to attend Tickets go on sale Monday, August 21st for $12 at: www.CubsMovie.com All proceeds will benefit Children’s Memorial Hospital SPONSORED BY: Budweiser, WXRT Radio, Murphy’s Bleachers, Hilton Chicago, Lou Malnati's, and Wrigleyville Sports Media Contact: Karen Ammond Publicist kbcmedia@att.net Amanda Lang |

They stopped being lovable losers a few years ago when bartman fucked shit up for them.
God, I loved the 2003 playoffs. Not as much as last years, though. |

spoken like a true douchebag who has never gone to a game.
cubs games are a blast, and part of "social" chicago. sure, sox are a better team, and can say that because i'm fans of both and have strong connections to the south side....but even during the world series it was still a better overall time going to cubs games vs. sox games. if you like drunken craziness, that is. |

hey, OF COURSE the 05 sox were better! they were the best in baseball (and still are, in my opinion). however...what I was trying to say is that it took them getting all the way to he world series (yes i went to a game) before the energy level and atmosphere came close to a cub game. i'm not talking about the quality of the players here...
mindless drunks? c'mon...its like going to a WWF or XFL game....they may be mindless drunks but they certainly contribute to the overall spirit of the crowd and the atmosphere of the ball park. just look at soccer. |

i often ask myself the same question.
but have you ever sat in the lower part of the mane pavilion....i.e. within the baselines and within the first 50 rows? or in the bleachers even? pretty broad ranges of mayhem and excitement i know, but that's the point. its a blast. my last two games were actually rooftop parties on waveland. fucking cool, and comfortable....but i wished i was in the ballpark. |

i am not from chicago, been to 2 cubs games did not see anything exciting about them at all!
So lets take the cubs past 6 years. They had sosa STEROIDS! they had the WS spot locked up, they blew it. Last world series early 1900 so you tell us whats exciting about cubs baseball. Wait wait billy sang that horrid take me out to the ball game and this board kisses his ass for that. Esty sees what i see a bunch of fags kissing everything billy touches or likes. When zwan played at that museum in chicago everyone is like HEY LETS GO TO THE MUSEUM NOW THEY ARE COOL AS FUCK!. ESTY FOR NETPHORIAN PREZ! |
