There is a huge difference between offering to pay for the car, and being a man and going out and getting the car fixed by yourself. A kid does the first, a man does the latter.

Financially, you'd be in the same boat, and your parents would have bought you a laptop anyhow... The difference is, today you'd be a man, instead of still being a kid. Enjoy your computer.

It would be totally hilarious if his parents now broke his laptop and made him pay for the repair.

I am not debating that you didnt need the laptop, or that you parents wouldnt have paid for it or whatever... I am saying that you need to learn that you have to take more into consideration the GESTURE of what is going on rather than what you figure the end outcome will be. if you just get to know people and assume that they are going to come to some preconceived conclusion in the end of an argument, then you are going to really really make some people angry. parents are used to that shit and are pathetic in that they LET you get by without going through the formalities of "no I HAVE to pay for this car I will feel horrible unless I compensate you in some way" but it's mostly to be expected in your position.

honestly after i lost that necklace... if I didn't bring it up to my mother after she had reordered it, she would NOT make me pay for it again. I KNOW that, and I know that our relationship would not change in any way whatsoever if I so happened to forget to pay her back for the one she reordered... but you know what? About 4 years ago I would have done exactly that, but as I have "grown up" I have realized the important of dumb formalitites even if its not changing anything. a person spoiled like yourself is almost going to expect that people understand that "it would have worked out the same in the end." but I really hope for your sake that college does for you what I think its going to do for you.
You are sick in the head vipbrj.

maybe he feels guilty about being priveldged so he has to come netphoria to escape his richie rich existance.

Maybe by day he pleases his parents wearing his ascots and argyle socks and neckerchiefs while his father slowly cleans his monocle collection and smokes rare peruvian tobacco out of a pipe but at night he sneaks out of the compound and becomes a street tough punk, with his leather jacket and converse sneakers and tight levi jeans. and he does things like wreck cars and post on netphoria to learn some serious life lessons about how to be a man from canadian lesbians.

...and to get back on topic sort of...

i am pretty much completely inept when it comes to computers, and my transition from pc to mac has been totally seamless.

maybe that's because i don't actually do very much with it though. :-/

What a waste of a Blackbook.

You'd have been better off with the middle model white one, I think - still burns dvd's but is like $200 cheaper even after you upgrade the hard drive so it's identical to the black one.
