pick the northernmost and southernmost names on the map. i can't guarantee that all the roads are straight or diagonal, but that's the closest you'll get sorry
1160 miles.

I had no idea NZ was that big. That's longer than California.

probably cape reinga to manapouri is the longest: 2175km
northernmost to southernmost is cape reinga to bluff: 2131km

manapouri is a lake between the "t" in queenstown and the "g" in invercargill

About 700 miles to Bonnaroo last year - I took a power nap halfway through.

in one sitting, close to 1000 miles.

i drove 8000 miles in 20 days in 04, so that's an average of 400 miles/day for basically 3 weeks straight.
in that stretch i drove from chapel hill -> albuquerque in 2 days.

1-day, non-stop except for gas and restroom drives i've done:

key west, fl to latta, sc - 839 miles in ~15 hours

twin falls, id to san francisco, ca - 860 miles in 21 hours (yes, straight through - detour from reno, nv up through susanville, ca through a snowstorm to avoid road closures due to an even bigger snowstorm over i-80 in the sierras)

seattle, wa to hardin, mt - 864 miles in ~14 hours

hardin, mt to superior, wi - 900 miles in ~15 hours

New Zealand is bigger than the United Kingdom. There's lots to see and do, come down some time and I'll show you round.

Last year Nick and I drove from Sault Ste. Marie (Upper Peninsula) into Canada, all around Lake Superior, through Thunder Bay, down through Duluth, MN and back to Madison, WI in less than 20 hours.

Close to 1000 miles, I believe.

1100mi in one sitting is impossible unless you have like 35 gallon tank

I did 1150mi from Monterey, CA to El Paso, TX... 17 hours, with four people in a tiny car... and a few days later we drove to LA to drop someone off, ate and went back to Monterey.
