I don't like hiphop where the direction of the song changes like *clicks fingers* that - ie. beastie boys, and I'm sorry to say I'm not feeling most of the wutang's stuff.
I'm happy to listen to stuff with killer flows, I've grown to really love Nas (illmatic especially, never really got the love for it was written) I like really grimey tracks as well as total chillout, lay back and BLAZE IT UHH tracks. Love Dre. Love Nas. Love Biggie. Really like some of tupac's stuff. Del is ok. DMX is ok. Not too keen on banks/g units stuff but I am a closet 50 cent fan, especially his earlier mixtapes. Power of the Dollar is excellent. Kanye doesn't do much for me at all and neither did what I've heard from Common. I am having a lot of trouble getting into Jay Z.. but everyone puts him alongside biggie and nas as far as east coast rappers go. Any track suggestions? Any other folk I should check out? I'm sure Talib and Pharoah Monche will be mentioned, I keep meaning to get round to them... |

he's not everybodies cup of tea, but if you like some intelligent wordplay and slick flow then check out anything by Sage Francis and/or Non-Prophets (his collab with Joe Beats). actually, anything Anticon crew is generally sweet.
i reccomend Personal Journals. |

Yeah, personal journalist or escape artist by Sage Francis are lyrical masterworks
"and turn this big bang theory into a small pop hypothesis" I personally love a bit of jurassic 5, charlie tuna has a great voice, plus the backing is funky. Swing set is cool. Dj Format is quality too, i think his signature songs are alphabetaerobics and ill culinary behaviour. but i like my hip hop with hammond organs and funky bass beats. Rascal for the format what?! |

If you're into the lyrics and flow I'd say check out Brother Ali (Shadows on the Sun) and Aesop Rock (Labor Days). Both two of my favorites.
And what Mark said. |

I'll 3rd or 4th the Tech N9ne reccomendation.
also, it's rap, not hip hop.. but you might want to check out Brotha Lynch Hung. some of his material is pretty spotty and I haven't listened to it in ages, but it may be something you'd enjoy. aaand... well, I was going to recommend cLOUDDEAD, but you don't like music that changes. actually, going by that standard, you should be safe with pretty much any hip hop artist in the mainstream. |

yeah d i have the luda albums as well, his stuff seems really hit and miss tho
its not that i dont like music that evolves i just dont like songs where every few lines they use a new sample, it just makes everything sound disconnected and i have a hard time getting into it, it feels to me like not much thought has been put into it most of the time thanks for all the recommendations guys |
