all apartments i've been in let you get a dish. one apartment wouldn't let you mount a dish to their building or porch wall, but rather you had to get a tri-pod or something. actually the biggest factor in getting a dish or not is whether or not your apt has a southern exposure, because all dishes need to point south.

hahaha I think the gas for the 50 trips all the way from west sacramento to fair oaks would probably equal the price of an already-put-together piece of furniture

How much per month after your six-month or 1-year committment, though?

i had to unjoin the myspace netphoria group because the name of it was "considering suicide" and i didn't want all two of the people i know in REAL LIFE to see that and think i was. i mean i am, but they don't need to know that.

we were babysitting at someone's house with dish network the other day. we decided that it sucks just as much as basic cable. which sucks and we only have because it's free.

I have digital cable right now. i HATE it.

We need to move when this lease is up anyway because we have way too much shit, but the fact that we can't get our DirecTv here has been a big push to make sure that our new apartment has an unobstructed view of the fucking southern sky. damnit.

and while IKEA furniture is neat looking, a lot of it is overpriced for what it is and most importantly, it's disposable. Sure, you can spend $400 on an IKEA sofa, or you can go spend $500 at a Haverty's or some shit. Difference is, the one from Haverty's will last you for at least 5-10 years (Mine lasted for 10) while the IKEA stuff will start to crap out before that. But if you want disposable, then go for IKEA I guess.

yeah I had basic cable at my old apartment, and when I went over to my parents house there was still nothing on TV. it doesnt matter how many stations you have if they all have nothing good on. The only thing I liked better was the payperview option and the DVR. Dish Network doesn't have On Demand though which kind of sucks. I think this will be more entertaining. I wish HBO did Carnivale On Demand though

i don't have cable. well, actually i have the cheap apt cable for $15 that gives me only local channels and the c-spans. i find that i don't miss cable. and that c-span has decent stuff on the weekends.

my first day of work was today.

it was kind of overwhelming like most first days are... meeting tons of people whose names I will never remember, getting a feel of the new social circles and customs, etc, being told my expectations and what I'm going to be doing for the next 6 months.

the guy I share an office with MIGHT be annoying, I haven't determined. he seems like he likes to talk a whole lot and I'm really annoyed by people trying to shoot the shit with me while I'm working. Oh well. I got a new laptop, a new cell phone, and I get my company truck on wednesday.

I've realized today that I like to say 'directory' instead of 'folder' to sound more computer old school.

I didn't know when you actually started your job. You know I care because I actually find the things you do interesting (at least I think I do?)
