GISH- about all songs are on par in terms of quality
SD- same here MCIS- here's where the quality starts to vary. off the top of my head i'll say muzzle because it has that epic rock sound most of the songs do w/out doing anything special. 'take me down' is meh but a good way to close the first disc Adore- AMPHETAMINE. ANNIE DOG. HAS A FACE ... AND A LEASH~~ Machina- a few years ago i would've said The Crying Tree of Mercury but i've come to like its textures and doomsday sound. now, Blue Skies on the other is one song that genuinely suffered from over-production. i've come to love flood and billy's new approach to producing on this album but BSBT would have benefited from being a MCIS rawk blowout. but i appreciate what they tried to do with this song MSOTS- this is the album where i think billy first (and so for, the only, imo) time billy professionally dropped the ball. alot of songs seem like an uninspired step back to siamese dream. out of all of them Desire really need to go though TFE- i want to say strayz but it worked as an album closer. Now and Then i could've done without |

sd - can't do it pi - plume? i don't know mcis - mcis, by a hair adore - appels + oranges, by a mile machina - wound, by a stab " II - glass theme (spacey). the worst officially released track, imo. the only thing good i really have to say about it is the unenthusiastic chant of "rock and roll" msots - desire. it's like "i will star and i will shine in a season all mine", "what i want, i get", "what i want you can't fucking kill" then "anyone who desires is not my kind, i have no use for you". wtf? tfe - camera eye. i actually like 'i'm ready' now. in fact i've come to appreciate the album. not my fav, but it's not bad. my least fav thing about the album would be the lyrical theme of 'stay with me' that comes up too much Last edited by aztec litany service : 06-12-2006 at 10:11 AM. |

Gish- Daydream (come on, how can I possibly not choose this)
SD- Today PI- Sandoz, I mean I prefer no covers, ever, landslide's probably second up MCIS- Take Me Down, lyrics are a bit too mushy Adore- Blank Page, Crestfallen, or possibly Once Upon a Time I Went B0wling Machina- Although not necessarily the best album, so many of the songs are at the same level, can't decide. Crestfallen was much better live when it had more of a rocking climax, although that still doesn't save it in my opinion. Nothing impressive about the song compared to the rest of Adore, sure the piano is memorable, so you light up when you hear it, but it just drones on, and the chorus lyrics are disappointing. Edit: Did I just confuse songs or did someone edit my Daydream to Window Paine like 3 seconds after I posted  |

Everyone's dislike of Crying Tree disgusts me. Sure the weird trumpet sounds are perhaps overly creepy, but just lock yourself in a room and listen to the damn song for a few hours, you'll love it.
