I've moaned about this on and off over the years but I really doubt it's ever going to happen. I think partly because mike and chris enjoy seeing people moaning about sports threads.

I enjoy seeing sports threads in the Gen. Chat forum. Gives it a spice that would be lost if it was moved to its own separate board (like how the political threads were fun in the gen chat, but now moved over to the Politics board .... LAME!!!!!)

I'd be fine with either option, replacing the politics board with the sports board, or just doing away with the politics board altogether.

The sports board is pretty much I think a perfect option simply because there is a small group that posts in those threads, and another fairly large group that just never, ever, ever posts in those threads.

Meanwhile the politics board is something that almost all of us could be discussing in in one form or another but has become dominated by the 2 or 3 liberals who feel like bothering and then the republicans who don't like to be called republicans. Its become more partisan than an episode of Crossfire and unfortunately isn't very international, either. It might as well be called the American politics at this board.

So either kill the politics board and replace it with the sports board or kill the politics board and bring it all back to the gen board.

At the same time I would argue to kill the music board, too. The sense of community would be heightened and the ysi thread would be much more active and things of that nature. There's a lot of people here who aren't really talking about music that much who obviously love music. I think that's kinda dumb.

I think the politics board is fine even if it is slow. Having people who at least know something discuss it without trolls and other assholes going in and disrupting it is great. The same threads over there would be filled with other bullshit here.
