Default the ricky gervais show

http://www.guardian.co.uk/rickygervais#top

this is a half an hour "radio" show with ricky gervais, steven merchant and karl pilkington. the sole reason to listen is karl pilkington who is a comedic genius. if you listen, remember that he's not pretending to be that stupid, it's all real. he's not a character, steven and ricky "discovered" him when they were hosting a radioshow on xfm (it's all documented on the xfm site). listen to episode 6

Yeah, the only funny part is when he reads his journal.

Needless to say I do find it quite enjoyable to listen to while waiting for the trolley, passes time quickly.

i can't you guys failed to pick up on stuff like:
- karls total inability to understand how analogies work. don't throw stones in a glass house means that you shouldn't throw stuff when you're in a fragile enviorment, for example when you have a plasma screen nearby.
- his reaction to watching a naked woman in the window, ie taking of his
own clothes while his girlfriend can see him. the reason being that he wants her to see
some of his ass too, since it's only fair.

i listen only to understand how karl pilkingtons mind works, it's incredible.

the glass house thing is hilarious.

i find that with most good british humor, I need to listen to or watch it twice to appreciate it fully.

Is Ricky Gervais considered the comic mind of this generation in the UK? I'm not aware of his level of popularity over there but all signs point to him being wildly popular.

i think it is the best thing that's been shown on television for the last 5 years, of the things i've seen. if you want a sure fire way of knowing if a person has understood the show, just ask if they think that the greatest "moment" is the dance. you love the dance don't you lara? i bet you do. pathetic.

I was thinking that I've never seen a Chinese homeless either.

Even in Vancouver. Like Amy said. Vancouver is like all Asians and tons of homeless, but no Asian homeless.

It has to do with their support system. They don't just come over as one when they move to America, UK, or Canada. They pretty much come as a family and an extended one at that. And further, family is an important thing in the Asian cultures.

Most people who are homeless have either serious mental problems or serious chemical dependencies AND have a lack of a support system.

Here in Texasss you dont see many Mexican homeless. It's the same reason as the lack of Chinese homeless.
