13 hours in line for U2 tickets
first time I've had to camp out for tickets to anything
our spot in the line just happened to be on the doorstep outside a brothel, so all night we had customers coming and going while hundreds of people heckled them. ------------- http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/st...ectID=10359548 |

Fucking hell! The brothel bit was pretty cool. There are only one or two bands I'd wait that long for tickets for, and u2 definitely isn't one for me.
I hope you are well dude, I hardly see you post anymore.

It was hella-mad.
They haven't played NZ since 1992 (from memory). The announced one show, tickets went on sale at 9am - the internet was overloaded, couldn''t get through on phone lines, I waited at a ticketing venue and not one ticket was sold as their allocation was exhausted before anyone got any. I walked back to work and luckily got 4 tickets pretty much straight away on the net. Tickets sold out in 90 minutes. Loads of tickets then appeared on the local online auction site - lots going for over 4 times the cover value. They announced a second show. Some people camped out for 2 days to get tickets. Same deal. Tickets all sold out in 90 minutes. For ecxample, at this moment there's a general admission ticket (brought for $99) on trademe for $300 - and it hasn't met reserve. Another one for $360. 3 b-reserve tickets (cost price $120 each, I have 4), current bid $1,000.00 |

The only way I'd ever wait 13 hours in line is if I was promised that I'd never have to hear U2 ever again. Pretentious cocksuckers.
"Here's some more musical vermin who's mother's we wish had medical plans that *******d abortion. These singers... the singers who think they're so special they only need one name. Bone, Sting, Jewel, Tiffany, Prince... what a crock of shit. Get a fuckin' last name, would ya please? I got a nice two-word name for ya- pretentious cocksucker. How do ya like that Bono, Sting? It's not bad enough the music sucks, but with no last name you can't find out where they live to toss a fucking bomb through their window.. It's frustrating." -George Carlin Last edited by Deege : 12-14-2005 at 07:11 PM. |

I don't like them a great deal... but I'd happily pay $99 to see them, especially when I paid $80 to see shitty Coldplay.
the issue was mainly me queuing up for tickets for friends who were too lazy to take the day off work. |
