Yes, it is extremely important for us to give back over 88k to individuals who make over one million dollars. Wonderful.

The reason why their cut is larger is because THEY PAY THE MOST TAX.

I know the economy is shit right now, we're about to begin world war 3, and our people seem to be more fucked up mentally than ever before...but come on, be fucking thankful for the 5-63 dollars we're all going to get. Thanks bush, now I can get that nice t-shirt I've been eyeing up.

CONGRATULATIONS! You have just been bribed into liking the president! Doesn't it feel good to be a mindless, selfish consumer?

I am. It's another scheme for the rich to get out of paying large percentages of their income to the government.

It's not really fair that millions of tax dollars go to subsidizing corporations that can't keep afloat because of the fact that they're way too big to be efficient and now we are giving those same CEOs enormous tax breaks. It's revolting and wrong. I can't believe people fall for it because they're getting a couple bucks so they can continue being slaves to the consumerist culture.

Get those big apes in here and we'll buy 'em off with a bananna or two!

Funny how easily the country's hunger for change can be sated with a few bones from the government. We truly are a shallow nation.

Rhino, out of the candidates for president in 2004 that you've heard about, which sounds the most appealing to you? (I've heard about Al Sharpton, Joe Lieberman...not a whole lot more, though)

Haven't you been paying attention? I don't give a shit about any of these assfucks that are running for president. They can all go to hell. Lieberman wants to censor Grand Theft Auto. I wish Rockstar had a code where you played "Find Lieberman and kill him" and you'd allways find him at a sandwich shop asking for ham and swiss on rye with mottsa ball soup. Fucking jew cocksucker. Al Sharpton is a joke. The rest are hilariously boring, Kelly, Gephardt and Daschle? LOL! Yeah right! President Gephardt doesn't even sound right.

I'm writing in Henry Rollins.

This was pretty funny, actually. I guess humor is best when it's the bleak truth.

Thank you for showing me just how fucked our nation is.

Right now the Democrats have no chance of unseating King George II. They know this, that's why the current "forerunners" are all sacrificial lambs. They aren't serious about spending the money to run against the President. Which goes to show you how little it is about ideology anymore and how much it is about simply winning.

Hey, you might have said this same thing when George Sr. was in office right after the Gulf War, when his approval ratings were extremely high. A year later the country woke up and realized the economy sucked and voted him out of office.

notice how the middle class (30-40K) get back approximately the same money under either plan. Both sides trying to win the votes of the middle class?

I'd hope so. They're the majority of the voters. And they're easily bribed. Look honey! We got 250 dollars back from President Bush! We're gonna vote for him next time! Yay!"

Random Thought: My old history teacher said that had Clinton been able to run for a third term as president, he would have, and he likely would have won.

Do you agree? I do.

Crip, the numbers don't lie (usually). Bubba would have won a third term, his popularity was still very high and I believe there was a poll out asking the same question and the numbers said he'd win by a landslide. He was a morally bankrupt scumbag, but all intelligent politicians are (stupid ones like Dubya get pushed around by the intelligent scumbags), but he was an effective leader and he was an ace at international relations. If I was president, I'd appoint him as Secretary of State, despide the whirlwind of controversy that would follow.

killtheyouth mentioned Edwards. I have a hard time beliving he'll run if Dubya is strong in 2004. This guy is the Dem's golden boy. They're going to throw all their weight behind them in 2008 unless Bush fucks up before 2004, which is very possible. Also consider that we haven't had two consecutive two-term presidents since Jefferson and Madison. Interesting statistic, I think.

I do too.

And had 9/11 still happened when he was in office this term, he would have won again.

September you-know-what was one of the best things that could ever happen to a president, and because of it, Dubya will win re-election.

I said I agreed that he would get re-elected, Rhino, for more or less the reasons you posted. As much of a pig as he was (is), he was a marginally effective leader in a time period suited for a person like him. And I agree about the international relations thing, as well, as opposed to the braindead paranoid version of 'gunboat diplomacy' Bush is utilizing.

Which brings me to my next question (and I apologize for all the tangents, but I'm honestly interested)....Term limits: Good or Bad?
