I'm going to see Jeff Tweedy there tomorrow. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good location within the theater for taping? The show will be solo acoustic.

For an acoustic show, you really want to ride the stacks, but if that's not really an option for some reason, you'll want to do center balcony, as I was there for a couple shows (albeit both open taping) and security wasn't too bad up there. Just make sure to crotch your gear if you're not sure it's open taping, because they pat you down at entrance.
One warning. DO NOT tape from under the balcony. The soundboard area is usually the best place to tape, but definitely NOT at the Vic. |

Tweedy is open taping, so I guess there isn't any worry there.
If I sit in the front row of the balcony, I would do alright. Would it be a good idea to hang the mics on the front of the balcony? Would you recommend that I sit left, right or center? |

I sat in the front row of the balcony, and upon a cursory listen, it turned out really good. Thanks for your advice!
