What part is that? I love, I think it's like 9 or 13 minutes into Sleep where the song suddenly changes tempo. I remember being blown away the first time I heard that part. Totally cuaght me off guard.

we all want to hold in the everlasting gaze
enchanted in the rapture of his sentimental sway
but underneathe the wheels lie the skulls of every cog
the fickle fascination of an everlasting god
you know I'm not dead.

amazing in that Billy actually thought it was a good idea... I'd forgotten how funny those lyrics are though, btw.

So come, come ride in my my street-car by the bay
For now I must know how fine you are in your way
And the sea sure as I
But she won't need to cry
For it's really too hard for to fly.

i like the last thirty seconds or so of lost souls better. although, it kind of sucks having the climax of that album in the first song.

The third verse of "Ghost" by Neutral Milk Hotel... especially the end, the "And now she knows she'll never be afraid."

There's lots of moments on that album, but that one tops it, at least for me.

yeah maybe it is odd, but it seemed like a good way to point people to the exact moments we're selecting

The end of The Becoming when Trent is screeching "I won't give up it wants me dead goddamn this noise inside my head" and the synth drums in the odd time signature are going NUTZ

On Smile in the version of Surf's Up that I have (I'm no big BW expert, I don't know if there are lots of different Surf's Ups or not), the second section. After the first two versese I guess you could say when it drops out and there's that echo-ey chamber sounding production and he starts with 'Dove-nested towers'. That first introduction is great, and if we're talking about moments I have to say that one. But the whole from there on out is amazing.
And then also from Smile the tornado sounding insane things in Cabinessence. I really love those choruses.
In Obscured by the Pumpkins those loud pings towards the end, I always get all choked up by the final, loudest one. Those are lovely.
