upcoming albums prediction thread.
this means in relation to popularity, directions in the bands career, and new sounds, etc.
The Darkness - The Painstaking i see more of the same coming.... just like the vines repeat performance. all interest in the darkness will fade away. Korn - Souveneir Of Sadness either a return-to-the-old-sound decent release, or the last korn album ever. either way, we win. Jet - TBA is jet. will suck. more commercial success though. Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have It So Much Better..... With Franz Ferdinand. i think this will potentially show a new side of FF, and i'd love it to progress from the last album, but still hold its charm. Red Hot Chili Peppers - TBA By The Way sucked... this is much like Korn in that it will either be a brilliant return, or it will spell the end for RHCP Muse - Cryptology i smell heavy radio airplay but little interest. yet another generation of idiotic muse fans will arise. Tool - TBA (rumoured Teleincision or Eleptheria) my opinion isnt valid here, as tool can do no wrong in my eyes. make up your own minds. also, the Billy Howerdel instrumental solo album looks interesting.

Franz
I see more of the same, the whole first album felt like it had the same drumbeat. Muse Will be interesting but never warrant praise. RHCP The days of anesthetics are numbered, surgeons will play their new album at moderate volume to keep patients sedated while wearing specially designed earplugs. The Darkness - The Painstaking
It'll probably sound a lot like "Permission to Land", only maybe not as fun. But I agree... people will lose all interest in them. Jet - TBA I HATE Jet. Another album full of cover songs they attempt to pass off as their own. A couple hit singles, but nobody will really give a shit about them. Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have It So Much Better..... With Franz Ferdinand. I don't like Franz Ferdinand either. Judging from the first single, it'll probably be more looped cheesy guitars and lyrics repeated over and over again. This album will be more commercially successful than their first though. They'll probably use more of their songs in commercials. Red Hot Chili Peppers - TBA I thought "By the Way" was great. I think this next one will be a cross between the mature sound of "By the Way" and some of their heavier stuff from "Californication". It'll have the same level of success as By the Way. Outkast - TBA They say they're going back to rapping... but I predict more of a Stankonia sound than an Aquemini sound. Still, I think it'll be pretty good. Plus it will sell a shitload of copies and stay in the Billboard Top 10 for months. The Strokes - TBA It will be different enough from Room On Fire to satisfy their fans, but everyone else will say it sounds just like everything else they've released and completely dismiss them. Critical praise but commercial failure. I think they'll develop a cult-like following of devoted fans (I'll be one!), but nobody will really pay much attention to them after this one. |

so Muse's new record will be called Cryptology eh...typical. but will be interesting to see if they can pull anything new out of the hat. which i doubt, tbh. unless matt b has gone mad on two-handed tapping and death techno.

I like how they usually cut all the crap and just rock the hell out. Love this band. |

Re: upcoming albums prediction thread.
The Darkness - will suck.
Korn - just like everything after the debut, it will suck. but since they've been going for the trophy for "worst album of all time" with the last few ones, it will probably not just suck, it will be more horrendous than ever. which is an accomplishment and therefor maybe good? Jet - TBA Franz Ferdinand - I'm sure it will be cool. I like the leaked song. Red Hot Chili Peppers - TBA I didn't think By The Way was that bad...at least half of it was ok. The singles AFTER that, from the greatest hits album, THOSE sucked bigtime. Don't really have high hopes. Muse - Cryptology meh. crap, probably Tool - TBA (rumoured Teleincision or Eleptheria) more hollow pretentiousness. hope it will contain at least a few great songs like Lateralus did. |

Liars -
even though I didn't like TWWSWD, i'm sure they'll at least make something that's interesting, in a music i've never heard before way. |

Pearl Jam- It will rock. I think it'll be a straight up rock record without the more down-tempo stuff on the last two albums. McCready has already said it's like Vs., and that's not a bad thing, that's a good thing.

hahaha korn's new album is called souveneir of sadness, god they suck. so does the darkness, just remind me of shit hair metal.
i thought by the way was a very stellar album, actually, cant wait for the new chilli peppers. i hope the muse album is solid, i really like their previous three, hope they get some recognition here in the states, and of course looking forward to the strokes and radiohead. the new radiohead is suppose to be a splice from kid A and ok computer, should be awesome. if franz ferdinand evolve they might be worth paying attention to, but that new single sucks. |

Tool - The new album will be good, but not great. It will still be 100000000 times better than everything APC has released since Mer De Noms.
Cryptopsy - With Lord Worm returning, I expect these guys to kick it up another notch and release their best album since Worm's last, None So Vile. Tomahawk - Not sure when this is going to be out.. probably early 2006. Regardless, I don't think it will be that great. System of a Down - Hypnotize. It will suck just like Mezmerize. Slayer - There might be one or two good tracks, Lombardo is over-rated as a drummer and they should have hung up their tights in '94. I can't think of anyone else who should be releasing a new album sometime this year/early next year. Overall, it's looking pretty disappointing. |
