I saw some goth people in Italy. One of the girls was really gHOT. (Goth Hot) But then she started acting like a vampire with her boyfriend. I almost cried.

those are stereotypes. i know a lot of people who follow both satanism and wicca who are not "goth".

I guess they just can't provide enough raw dumb to guarantee goth metamorphosis. So what will? Is Satanism and a bit of mascara enough? Goth isn't based on religion. You can't automatically associate satanism or paganism with it. It's more of an artistic presentation. Gothic lit, gothic dress, gothic music, etc. It's a style that's based on an appreciation of a certain aesthetic. Mods are another good example.

The basis of it has to do with accepting sadness as a big part of life. This usually means wearing primarily black. Everything else is pretty open ended. They tend to be death obsessed though, and they are probably the most pretentious of all sub cultures. Industrial music I guess is big with goths, but usually I think of goth rock first. The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, etc. Other forms of post punk are big too, I believe. Um. And dress like Billy Corgan in the pictures of him with The Marked.
