Jimmy has a really professional attitude these days.

Imagine if he joined A Perfect Circle for an album with James lol

I really like the drums on Suffer.

And the stuff on Gish in general. It has like a tribal sound to it or something.

They're really sort of raw and fill-y.

Tristessa is insane - the fast tom riff throughout and that insane roll before 'soul take soul...'

Yeah, I can't headbang hard enough to Jimmy's drumming on that track.

The first verse has that bone crushingly heavy "stop and go" mechanic going on or something. (I seriously don't know how to describe drums or beats). Like that pause between that next heavy drum blast is like being held up in space and then slammed down onto Earth.

Jimmy's hi-hat answer to "suck you" in "Set the Ray to Jerry".

You can preview the new album on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/lo...ep/id895158505

I don't know enough about jazz to say anything about the music, but the drums sound kickass as fuck.

(feat. Jimmy Chamberlin)

Resolution of Purpose is really nice.

Same drums from the quiet part of GATCG by the way

Not really your biceps, though. More like your wrists and hands, especially given Jimmy's 'laid back' style, especially sitting down at a drum kit.

It does really hurt there when you're standing up and playing marching drums.

Technically there was at least one workout where he only did heroin before. Unless he stopped working out before quitting heroin.

And depending on when his heroin usage started and when he started working out, he might have only done it after the workout, technically, at some point

Awesome.
Now I'm excited about this release!

Are they only going to release it as MP3 files?
I want this on CD or as lossless files!

i noticed that since jimmy always got to choose the tempo to play "geek u.s.a." at, he would often start the song out ridiculously fast....that song is hard as fuck to play on drums even when just playing along to the studio version. he would play it a lot faster live. absolutely ridiculous to watch that guy move. he has 8 arms.

If you watch the Pinkpop 94 version, he starts out crazy fast, then has to slow way down during the 'siamese twins' part so he can play the bridge properly.

It's so much fun to play on drums once you get it down

I just received a reply from ropeadope.
They're also going to release the Love Supreme Collective EP on CD and on all formats via bandcamp.
That's great. I wouldn't have liked to purchase lossy files (Itunes).

yeah that is the one that came to mind when i saw this thread, actually! absolutely ridiculous! yeah geek u.s.a. is one of my favorite songs to play on drums. hummer is another.....i wish i could play "Jellybelly" but i have a feeling that is in the exclusive domain of Jimmy.
