That was for the Manson tour

Imagine how sad, pathetic, and awful that whole thing would've been

Robin Diaz:

He was going to play on the In Plainsong and Marilyn Manson shows in 2015. He posted a picture which showed a bunch of the songs the band was rehearsing. Apparently, he really didn't gel and Billy went without a drummer for the In Plainsong and finally called Jimmy for the Manson tour.

Let's take a moment to reflect on that. Billy - the same guy who let Mike Byrne play with the band for four years - thought this dude didn't sound good. It would have been awful.

Homeboy also played with Courtney Love. There's your connection.

He's just a session drummer, not the drummer for Theory Of A Dead Man any more than Josh Freese was the drummer for 3 Doors Down (or any of the other lame acts he's sat in for).

I saw Manson in December last year... I'm not sure why he subjected himself to that tour. I felt for him, even though he had taken my money. He looked miserable, overweight, unhealthy and like he wanted to be at home with his cats.

Manson performances these days are painful to behold. He's never been the strongest live performer, has heart problems and gets winded easily. Even back in the heyday of '96 when he was in good shape and did great shows, he'd have to huff oxygen between songs.

Saw him opening for Slipknot a few months back (my gf had never seen him and wanted to go, despite my warnings). He lasted 8 songs out of maybe a 10-song set, gasping his way through almost from the beginning. Disappeared for about a good 10 minutes halfway or so in, didn't take long for the crowd to start booing and chanting for Slipknot. When he finally came out on his crutches and did Sweet Dreams it was far and away the best he could manage; this was because he was relatively stationary. And it was pretty good.

I wish he'd learn to stop running around the stage like he was still capable of it, and just focus on his performance. If he keeps it up I think he might honestly die on stage one night.

I was impressed by Manson, when i saw the tour last year. Dude still rocks hard! made Billy & Co. look like some wimpy, dad-rock shit.

Also, his new(ish) album, The Pale Emperor is awesome. one of last year's best... if you've not listened. less industrial, more bluesy. very good.

Everyone who's heard it tells me it's my best album since Mellon Collie.

I wouldn't say it was one of the best of last year, but it certainly ranks up there as one of his best albums. It showed that he could still make relevant, interesting music. It was a great pairing.

It will include reworked versions of songs from the Corgan vault that fans have been waiting to hear, such as "The Mandarin" and "Blurricane."

Roctopus was basically a drum solo Jimmy did on the 2008 tour IIRC.

So Mandarynne is a Teargarden song.

Should've let Rubin produce those old Teargarden tracks.
