Default few questions about the reissues

uh yeah so basically I have not been able to conjure enough of a fuck to purchase or even download any of the reissues yet. I want to start with Gish and I do want it on vinyl... so am I totally stupid or is it not available on vinyl in the deluxe edition with the extra songs? Or is it just out of print? I can't find it on amazon.

also am I correct that this has been the consensus?
Gish - worth purchasing
Siamese Dream - worth purchasing
Pisces - fucked up audio, worth downloading
MCIS and TAFH - would be worth purchasing if not for the price

Most of the bonus tracks suck anyway.

I wouldn't want a huge plastic shield with things that suck.

Only thing I would want is the live TAFH disc

i really don't see the point in buying any of these reissues on vinyl. they do not contain the original music.

with tafh and mcis alone you get over 100 bonus tracks however. thats nothing to sneeze at. there are a few gems in there.

because vinyl sounds better. I get what you're saying but if you have a turntable there's not really a point in spending money on CDs if you can get it on vinyl. The version of Gish most of us think of as being "the original" is actually not the original either.

yeah the mixes are the same, it's the mastering that is different with a few exceptions. I do remember someone saying the mixes are completely reversed on SD in terms of the left/right channels

itunes quickly uploaded a "fixed" version of 'plume' that just had the volume levels increased from the original CD. likely an itunes fix vs. a real band fix as the levels are still inconsistent.

IIRC did kerry brown had a hand in it. AKA home remaster.

& there was no re-press. just a digital file.

Can someone tell me exactly what was the deal with Plume?

I noticed the changes on Dreaming as soon as I heard it, but I didnt really notice anything on Plume

Its probably because Ive only been a fan for a few years now and am still ingraining everything into my head

the remaster used a version with a different vocal take
no "bring me down" lyric during the guitar solos. (see 2:55)
