There is so much music in the world that you can never hear it all in 1 life even if all you do is listen 24/7

In light of this horrible/amazing fact, I will continue to give zero shits about investigating anything weezer released after pinkerton

I guess one could say the same about latter day bill, and that is why I am sick. Because I continue to pay attention even to this very moment

Yeah, you're nuts man.

Weezer has a TON of good music post-Pinkerton... Smashing Pumpkins post Machina?... not so much... Here's a few great songs to enlighten you with.

Billy Corgan's 90's output eclipses Cuomo's. Cuomo is as mental as Billy, but comes across as a much nicer guy. His method for writing songs is fucking stupid. He has spreadsheets of generic song lines organised by syllables and rips off old chord progressions and it just sounds like the most unatural way to make music. But his post-2000's output is better than Corgan's and he hasn't been on Infowars, so probably Cuomo, but Corgan will always have the better musical heritage.

Weezer's last album was up there with their best.

I really enjoyed their last two albums. Almost made up for the pile-up of shit they produced in the decade beforehand.

weezer today is like if SP had made 5 more Zeitgeists and MCIS and Adore didn't exist.

I don't really share this sentiment. Red and Raditude had a few great songs, enough to keep me on the bandwagon. Hurley sucks though but then they bounced back in a great way with their last 2 albums.

The difference with Weezer is there's consistently been flashes of brilliance whereas Corgan's just seemed kind of lost.

In my theory I equate SD and MCIS to the blue album and Pinkerton.

Adores got a few great songs, but it really isn't that great of an album. I was listening to it the other day and it hasn't aged all that well... Either has Machina...

Adores clearly the first sign that there's cracks in the ice appearing as far as Corgans songwriting abilities.

And while Gish has some awesome musicianship, a lot of the songs aren't all that great. It's still a pivotal album and all of that, but I can't help but feel that it's overrated among the fan base.

This alone is better than anything Rivers Cuomo has ever done. And I really like Weezer.

Ugh, no. The Red Album was a bloated mess with maybe three passable songs (and that's taking the bonus tracks into consideration). Raditude was fucking rock bottom. The only song on that I can stand is "If You're Wondering If I Want You To." That song felt like true, blue Weezer. The rest was hot garbage. Hurley was a vast improvement. Not great, but showed signs that maybe they were correcting the course. And the next two albums prove that to be true.

Aren't opinions fun?
