Boris released their debut Absolutego in 96 so it makes perfect sense that they wrote mcis and sd (probs recorded the guitars as well at least james/darcys parts) and then peaced out.

Machina is pretty good with some genius songs. Machina II is awesome too. I listen a lot.
Then Zwan shocked me at first then I ended enjoying their work in general. He still being able to sing in several songs..
Then TFE..., I enjoyed it and still listening once in a while but not genius there.
Finally Zeitgeist, I hated and still hating in general.
The last recorded part which I recognize billys voice as Awesome is in that very quite and slow part in the middle of Tarantula.
After that all stuff keeps very low on quality.

Billy didnt lost me totally yet but from Z to now I cannot listen to any album.

I've also been around since the 90s. Zwan was a big turning point because he recruited great musicians, wrote some great songs, played some really exciting live shows....then the album comes out and all you hear is Billy and Jimmy...barely a trace of an honest contribution from anyone else. I think that was the moment that I realized billy really was the crazy control freak he was made out to be....that, and when he immaturely trashed the shit out of the band in the press while they graciously bit their tongues and continued to be successful and respected as actual musicians.

It really is. I used to like him, but I read the letter shortly after he posted it, and I could never quite look at him the same way again. I'd probably see him live now after all this time, but I don't think I'd have any interest in saying hi.

For what it's worth, I think all the things he said about Billy over the years were quite tame and likely deserved. It was the misogyny of the letter that got to me.
