Red face mBeat: Iha & D'arcy rejected reunion contract

When I picked up my copy today from Müller (version with Zeitgeist), i took their store magazine with me that had an article on Zeitgeist. To my surprise the article claims that Billy called Iha and D'arcy "greedy and uncooperative", because they wouldn't accept billy's contract for the reunion. the contractual conditions apparently were: no participation in creative matters, no compensation for travel expenses and no royalties from album sales and merchandise.

Can anyone confirm this?
I wouldn't know where they got this info from....so i'm calling bullshit

Yeah, I saw that too. Probably bullshit. Why should some writer from a 4th class store magazine know such details? Billy would never talk about stuff like that...

that's correct. although record labels usually pay those store magazines for covers, articles and reviews so they can't really write what they want....i really don't know what to think of this

Could BC legally set those terms to original members? James has writing credits and all.. But I know nothing about that kind of stuff.

I agree....I think this is a bunch of BS....the writer is probably an opportunist looking to get his or her name out there by lying.

how would this info get out though? Only BC/JC/Darcy/James or the lawyers would have been involved so if true it came from James/Darcy but that's unlikely.

Why would he make an offer like that, if he knows they'd take some convincing to join up? It sounds like an offer he'd only make with the intention of making them turn it down.

I mean, he's not telling the press "I offered but they didn't want to be a part of the grand rebirth of the Pumpkins heart (sniff, sniff)," so what would his reasoning be?

So it's possible. It sounds also similar to what Eric Avery said about his potential involvement

I'm suprised (but I'm not) that "mainstream" media hasn't been chalking up this story/the reunion. They love going on and on and on and on about Prima Donnas.

I guess I can't. Who would willing want to work with people they despise? Let alone spend months on the road together.

I remember reading on some social news website (fark?) that when they were auditioning people, one of the people that auditioned posted that they are being surprisingly stingy with the pay. I also remember the part about no travel accommodations.

I still don't think BC would have ran his mouth about this as he's been really unwilling to discuss that kind of stuff.

Well the media basically. There will be a mention in every review from here on in etc.

Sample:

"Before I get to Zeitgeist it's important to note the absence of both Iha and bassist D'arcy Wretzky who reportedly refused to sign a contract devised by Corgan himself excluding them and royalties and any artistic input".

That's gold for alot of music critics.

Negative attention is abundant.

This whole no travel expenses shit? This means Jeff & Ginger had to pay their own way around Europe?
