Default Modest Mouse - We Were Dead... leaked

edit: here's a new link: http://www.mediafire.com/?fy3qjtttjzm

This is the rip from Oink, which is apparently slightly better quality than the original leak. Also, all the tracks are in the correct order on this one.

not too bad, im not overly impressed but i think i need to listen to it a bit. i expected more and if i wanted i could probably bash into it a bit, but im going to give it more of a chance.

the second half beats the living shit out of the first half. by the way that link has the tracklisting wrong, look at pitchfork or whatever for the proper tracklisting.

Shapan, how would you say Dashboard compares to the rest of the album.

i think if dashboard wasnt so repetitive it would be better. dashboard is probably my 7th favorite track on the album, but im not that big of a fan of that song. float on was a much better first single.

the album has a great opener and a great closer, and theres also an 8:30 song called spitting venom that is probably one of my favorite modest mouse songs already. steamus engenius is also excellent, little motel is a really good mellow song, and parting of sensory starts off soft and gains momentum. people as places as people is another good one, the last 5 tracks on the album really make up for some of the mediocrity preceding them.

the singer from the shins contributes to the album for a couple of the tracks, and i really think he should stay the fuck away from modest mouse.

cool, i'm not crazy about Dashboard either so it sounds promising. gonna hold out for the release date.

good to hear about the 8:30 song, that was one of the things missing from Good News i think.

Fire it up is the worst modest mouse song ever. The album isn't bad overall though. 2 breakthrough albums is enough for one band I suppose.

fuck you. the people who came here to bash isaac brock for being a talentless hick are pathetic. (sure, it's true but maybe that doesnt mean it should be said.) the people who came here to bash the music are far more dignified. what else should we bash? their wardrobe, what motherfucker, what?

This is bad just because it's bad, not because they're becoming financially independent. If they managed to do that with LCW, M&A or something of the same calibur.....I'd be proud of them

this is the 5th or 6th leak in like 3 weeks. none of the albums leaked has really impressed me, so i'm sure this won't either.

must be a dry spell.

get over yourself, no one gives a fuck about isaac being signed to a big label deal and all that jazz, it just happens to be that the last two momo albums, this one *******d, are probably their weakest albums. most people i know still love moon and anarctica, and they were signed back then too.

im pretty sure most people wanted this album to be their best, considering good news waivered a bit. no one cares about the fucking money, its not about being indie or being mainstream, its about making good music you moron. open your mind.
