I got my daughter into SP a few years ago and she became somewhat of a fan. She saw online today SP reunion tour. She wants me to take her. I had to tell her he's a Trump supporter racist. We talked about if we could separate art from the artist. We decided we can. But we're not giving money to support Bully anymore.

sorry, I was mocking an argument fuzzy made for 20 pages by slightly tweaking what he was saying each time, expecting people to take him seriously. eventually someone who is actually a professional musician explained to him he was totally wrong and three guitars is not only possible but has been done successfully by tons of bands, and he crept off in shame

How can anyone actually blame Billy for selling out and going for the money? He tried to create new music that was personal to him and it didn't work. It didn't sell well. He has an opportunity to make more money this way.

Also, those laughing at the venue choices, did you honestly think that he was not going to try and play in the biggest venues possible for the reunion tour? I would have been shocked beyond belief if he went to theaters or clubs for this. It may work and it may not. But I can't fault the dude for trying.

If the shows are good I'll probably wait for a good groupon deal and go.

Well, if he played large theaters he most likely would have pulled it off without too many issues. Now he's made it very, very iffy. Hope it works out for him I guess, but if it doesn't because it doesn't sell well enough because he shot for the moon I hope he realizes he did it to himself

I don't care that it's about money. Billy Corgan has already sold out and betrayed everything he claimed to stand for a long time ago. I just want a reunion that is good-hearted and is respectful to the legacy of the original band... and unfortunately, as simple as that seems, Billy Corgan is too much of an irredeemable cock knocker to even give us that.

You rat bastard. I never said it wouldn't be good because of 3 guitarists... I simply said it sucked that James wouldn't be the only other primary guitarist and then gave reasons why it could end up backfiring. Go listen to Zwan live, there's always 1 guitar that takes the back-seat in the mix.... If that's Jeff for the tour, then we're gravy... I'm simply worried that it might be James.

You really do have some sort of grudge don't you? Grow the fuck up.

No.

I didn't boycott the Machina tour because of No Darcy.

I haven't seen Billy, James, Jimmy together since the Final shows in Chicago. 18 fucking years ago

I don't have to boycott them, as the ticket sale will be so low that they won't cross the Atlantic after the U.S. dates.

The problem, atleast in the US, is that in a lot of cities, you go from 3K theaters to full blown arenas with not much in-between that isn't a garbage venue for music.

Take Chicago. You have Aragon Ballroom which I think holds around 4K. After that, what is next before something like Allstate which holds almost 20K? And if you are gonna play there, you might as well play the UC which is like 22K since it's closer to the loop where all the people are with money. There are smaller arenas like UIC but how good is that for music?

I suppose he could have tried theaters on multiple nights but then you are limiting the number of cities you go to. Can't play every night for 6 straight months.

Sure, there's no integrity involved, and this is the biggest sell-out shit that the Smashing Pumpkins have ever done in their career... But I'm gonna be 32 in a few months, I simply don't care anymore. I just wanna have some fun and see a spectacle featuring the songs I love.
Exactly how I feel.

He should have played the Showare center. Still has the arena feel, but at 6k seats, something you can sell out

If this tour was in partial support of a Machina reissue, I'd be excited about it. I'm just not that interested. It's "reunion" hype and Livenation summer tour boilerplate promotion.
