My father introduced me to Eazy-E and Compton's Most Wanted, explaining to me from a young age that artists like Dr. Dre and Snoop Doggy Dogg were merely actors, pranksters, studio gangsters, busters, and how this time I was dealing with some real motherfuckers.

lol my goodness, I had no idea Black was so highly reveled around these parts.

Songs like Rooster and I Stay Away kind of fall under the same niche and are 100 times better... So many better grunge classics out there than Black.

My dad introduced me to a marching band when I was a young boy on this one day upon which he took me into the city. He sat me down on a park bench and asked, "son when, you grow up will you be the savior of the broken, the beaten and the damned?"

that's kind of weird

dre & eazy-e both came out of N.W.A., and it's not like snoop was that far-removed from the whole thing

i don't see how Black and Rooster are even comparable at all, except that both are by famous 90's "grunge" bands. they have almost nothing in common musically, thematically, or lyrically.

It's an acquired taste, for sure. Dio is so different from Ozzy in just about every sense that Sabbath would have been wise to change their name after Ozzy left, especially given how spotty their history has been.

One of my personal favorite 3eb tracks. Getting dumped by Charlize Theron makes for some pretty solid inspiration.

I know probably nobody here cares about new music from Third Eye Blind, but I just downloaded the new EP "We Are Drugs" and it is none too shabby.

They dated from 1999ish to 2001ish. Most of their third (eye blind) album was written about their breakup.
