Butterflies don't fly
Broken hearts don't cry no no
How I've loved your body, baby
How I've loved your sapphires and rubies
Butterflies don't make it in movies

"Ruby" was the song that made me a fan of the band,
"Solara" is the song that made them a fun of a band.

The fake out in the first chorus of SIYL where it initially hits with a huge guitary wash, then when it gets to "you're all that I..... dream!" it REALLY kicks in across the frequencies - amazing moment, sounds incredible

I love this part of the song. It’s a bit of songwriting brilliance.

you guys with the "fake out" and "brilliance" re: SIYL... it's called a PRE-CHORUS and is very common lol

and yeah it is great

Choosing one moment from each album:

Gish: She knows through the end of the song in "Rhinoceros."

Siamese Dream: Sort of an extended moment, but the frantic ending of "Silverfuck," into "Sweet, Sweet," and ending with "Luna." As great as other individual songs on Siamese Dream are, this stretch really shows everything the band could do when it fired on all cylinders.

Mellon Collie Disc 1: "Galapagos" "

too late to turn back now, i'm running out of sound
and i am changing, changing
and if we died right now, this fool you love somehow
is here with you

Mellon Collie Disc 2: (Besides "Beautiful")

The last minute or so of "Bodies" with the guitars in full phase and Billy screaming "love is suicide" so rough it sounds like his voice will give out.

Adore: The "barbershop quartet" breakdown in "Behold! The Nightmare." Most people point "Medellia of the Gray Skies," but this is my favorite collaboration between Billy and the Flemion brothers.

all you have to do is run away
and steal yourself from me
become mystery to gaze into
you're so cruel in all you do
but still I believe, I believe
you

Machina: My initial gut instincts were "I blow the dust of my guitaaars" from "I of the Mourning" or "desolation yes hesitation no" from "Age of Innocence," but it's hard to argue with "This Time:" as the curtain falls, we bid you all goodnight."

Machina II: "Home"

"Love is everything I want"

Zeitgeist: Outro guitar solo for "Pomp and Circumstances."

Teargarden: Guitar solo for "A Song for a Son."

Inkless: End of "Wildflower" when the ebows kick in.

Monuments to an Elegy: Haven't listened to it since 2015.

YES. Turn it up on headphones for even greater results.

Also in IOTM when the heavy guitars kick in during the "real" chorus (as my... RADIO PLAYS MY FAVORITE SONG)

The build up in Quiet into when Billy yells then it drops into the solo. That’s the moment that got me into the band back in 93.
The solo in The Groover (pastichio version)
All the solos in Plume
Hummer - “It’s alright honey, it’s alright yeah!” - then gets heavier on that E and Jimmy’s fill, then the guitar leads
The second chord in the Mayonaise chord progression after it kicks in.
The end of Hello Kitty Kat
When the chorus in Stand Inside Your Love changes to the G chord

Just to name a few.

i have related this several times but i once had the weirdest and most intense deja vu ever. it was the first time i listened to SIYL. is was so weird. once i got to the outro (for the last time, i'm telling you how much i need and bleed...) it was as if i had heard it before. i anticipated every word, every note. it blew my mind.

and this was before drugs.

How the bass on Galapagos follows the vocal melody.
