Liner notes seem to indicate that the Matt Walker Reimaginings are not new remixes by Matt at all, but 2014 restorations by Howard of unreleased material from the Brad Wood/Matt Walker sessions.

found this from a rolling stone interview april 2014
Quote:
there are no tech notes for the drummers either. so i'm not seeing Matt Walkers name even listed anywhere in the notes, aside from his name on the titles of these songs. i'm guessing they found old unused brad wood and flood sessions - so howard, in 2014, readjusted all the faders on the tracks. it's matt walker on drums during those sessions with additional electronic percussion (something he said he wanted to do live earlier in the notes). |

maybe it's billy trying to return some credit to matt... even if it is misplaced.

can't wait to get home, grab a cold bottle of watermelon whatever-the-fuck liquor and put together my "alternative universe" adore playlist produced by matt walker, p. diddy, and rick rubin where all the big singles had voluptuous women in the videos and bill wore chrome-rimmed sunglasses
it was their biggest hit to date! |

Well, there ya have it, freeloaders. =P
One other typo I noticed in my booklet last week is that Matt Cameron isn't credited with the drums on the album 'For Martha'. Boooooo. |

That was harsh. We usually don't see that sort of aggression here on Netphoria. I know you're new to the board, but I cant recall a time when someone spoke so rude to another poster on Netphoria. Hopefully we can move forward. Why cant we just be friends! |

Anyone think epsonchina is really someone from Team SP looking for a legal reason to shut down Netphoria? #conspiracytheory

wow billy won't let that story go about LMGTWTY being the song that would have turned Adore into the mega smash album he thinks it was supposed to be. He's been saying that for like 15 years now... he does know that the person who told him that was just trying to be nice and make him feel better about Adore being a "flop", right? That song would have made zero impact on the album sales.

now that we've heard the "adore outtake versions" of both i think Do You Close Your Eyes woulda been a more viable 1998 radio hit single than Let Me Give the World to You, honestly
that was around the time stuff like Dido and Natalie Imbrug. were big, right? Yeah, SP woulda fit right in (lol) |

Amusing that James Horner was a dick to BC in regards to the Stigmata OST, then billy decided to write about it in the booklet. LET IT GO MAN

I was pretty disappointed by this booklet, enough to not really want the box set.
For one thing, there's almost no mention of James or D'arcy. I know that they didn't contribute that much to what ended up on the album, but from reading the commentary you would almost forget that this was a band project at all. I really liked the notes on Gish and MCIS, especially the more impressionistic, abstract track-by-track commentary on the Gish tracks. It seems like with each reissue, we're getting more and more of Billy's revisionism, ego, and opinion, as opposed to a peek into the overall spirit of the original album. This definitely feels like 2014 billy and not 1998 billy. |

The Machina II version of Let Me Give The World To You is much better than the Adore outtake version!
