if you're gonna eat meat without limit or restriction every day becuz it tastes good and not feel any guilt or remorse for the consequences of your actions, at least know it's because you're a bad person, and not because of any of those comforter excuses you've managed to pad yourself with. and just because the number of people on earth weighs the world down in many other ways as well (that much is true), that doesn't mean you're not supporting a system that systematically tortures and murders billions upon billions of sentient living creatures every day. be honest. it's the bottle kind that doesn't have the aids. I ended up not doing that though. I did a meditation thing to get me out the door. Put on my earbuds and rain jacket and listened to early 90s hip hop and walked to sushi conveyor belt place but the bar was packed so I went to Togo's and got a turkey bacon cheddar toasted sandwich and a bag of cool ranch. Then I went to the dispensary and got a few grams to make myself paranoid and sad tonight. Now I'm eating and watching shitty "entertainment news" garbage.

tim and i are going to a soccer game tonight (i got tix for his bday) and so we bought a lot of ready-made stuff at marianos to eat beforehand so we aren't suckered into paying $7 for some dry-ass hotdog. i made a big ol' salad at the salad bar with lots of curried tofu and veggies and feta and roasted garlic.

last night for dinner we had grilled cheese sandwiches with provolone, feta, and cheddar, and with sliced avocado put in after the sandos cooked. there was tomato barley soup on the side. :3
and tonight we're going out for his birthday dinner and he chose sushi. once we went to an all you-can-eat sushi place and had an eating contest and i won by eating 52 pieces. i think we'll just do a la carte tonight, though. |

This wasn't a usual Chicago trip where I just go wherever I want. I had to be sympathetic of the desires of the friends I was traveling with so the usual spots were not hit.
Fabulous Freddies - one of the best sandwiches ever. Antique Taco in Bridgeport - not my pick but the tacos were good and the poblano pepper margarita was even better. Sze Chuan in Chinatown - Best dinner of the trip. Went off to meet up with a different group of friends and went nuts. Bite Cafe - Been here a few times and would've probably went somewhere else but the biscuits & gravy were good and I love drinking at the Empty Bottle. |

bite cafe is one of my favorite breakfast spots along with cozy corner and meli cafe. i especially like their vegan pozole because it has hominy and it's spicy.
lockdown across the street is surprisingly good, too. my boyfriend and my parents and myself ate there (at a prison-themed restaurant) when bite was too crowded. my parents gave me a couple ribs cause i've been to jail a couple times in another phase of my life. real clever, fam. |

I do really like the food at bite a lot but I would've tried something different just to try something different. Never been to lockdown but I hear they're known for their burgers.
