Read the lyrics of TAFH (song) - disconnection is a mostly positive thing. It's referencing tunnel-vision love. BC is talking about a love that distracts him and rescues him from every day life. Disconnection. Although in the end he knows it's not true or real (hence later lyrics like "i don't need your love to disconnect"). He knows that love alone cannot make him feel that way.

Don't forget that the album comes from a young persons point of view. Doesn't anyone remember being so in love that a mere smile from the other person can take the hurt of the entire world away?

I think some are bullshit, but pretty while others have a lot of meaning. I never understood the knock on his lyrics. One of things that brought me to love SP (after the drums and guitar) were the lyrics - especially the moment when you took the time to look them up and realized he wasn't saying what you thought he was saying the whole time. If you followed them early the lyrics really weren't available until MCIS. They were on SD, but a chore to read, but once I sat down and tried following the SD lyrics I was like, "holy shit this is some poetic shit right here." "Shame my tongue/fat with promise all along." Nice

I like Isaac Brock because it is so real, humanistic, and straightforward like Bukowski or something and Corgan on the other side of the spectrum because it is flowery and poetic like Lord Byron.

I think Bill hits the lyrical bullseye most often on Adore, although MCIS for some reason seems to be the album most focused on lyrics.
