people who stand on the left side of the escalator are seriously the worst. I'm not sure if it's considered a big deal elsewhere, but in DC if you do that on the metro, especially when it's busy, you're playing a game of how long until an angry person taps you on the shoulder tells you to get out of the way. We have some of the longest escalators in the Western Hemisphere, this is no fuckin joke

Jimmy gave me a voice to be proud of. I've always hated my voice, hated that about myself. And I know people keep saying 'you sound fine' but.....shit, it's just a sort of phobia I have. I learned from his playing how to give myself a voice I don't hate

The only time that stuff sometimes gets to me is if I'm in a rush, but then I make sure to remind myself that it's not the other persons fault that I'm in a rush.

When I was sober yesterday, I was waiting in line behind a group of 2 guys and 2 girls who were clearly loaded and I had to try not to appear annoyed cause I didn't wanna be "that guy". It helped to remind myself how many times I've done the same sorta shit.

You are correct. The thing that brings out my neuroticism about it is that how can you not know escalator decorum. People complain about escalefters all the time. It's widely accepted and widely known that you walk on the left and stand on the right, so to witness that so many people still don't understand a basic cultural rule of living in the city is hard to grasp

In Florida, anyway, there's not an actual law about passing on the left, or slow traffic on the right, etc. So it's not actually learned before getting a license... not officially, anyway.

yes, it's probably myopia most of the time. and as you get older your idea of what is fast and what is important when driving will change. i honestly can't understand putting so much energy into stuff like this. that's just me. it's just driving, you're going to get there

right now, you are in the perfect and maybe last-ever situation to actually stop. you are at home. you have a support system. currently no classes. you have a therapist in case your drinking has gotten to a level that you are not able to stop cold-turkey without professional help. you know all you have to do is ask. and what do you do, despite knowing all of that? you keep drinking, all the while ruining the best thing for yourself you might have, namely drumming.
