I was listening to “God” again yesterday and it struck me that Billy and Flood didn’t think the song was album worthy, yet in recent years, he’s released two songs that sound like cheap knockoffs of God (GLOW and Solara), and actually released them both as singles. What does that say about Billy’s musical trajectory?

i'm pretty sure the story is that Flood found it too similar to Bullet, which is understandable

Flood also voted off Set the Ray, which is one Aeroplane song I could kinda see sneaking into the Mellon tracklisting but even so, Aero would just be that much less great if that was the case
