we have a cat named leon and i called him lele sometimes.

kinda sad, but mostly not, about the cat ****** was gonna give you. sort of surprised it took that long to figure out, though. i mean, was the cat just found without considering to check that out first?

apparently yes. but the owner (bon-sor's friend) didn't tell him that. he didn't know that his friend took a cat he found without even trying to find the owners.

she's home! currently hiding under my bed. i put out dry food, wet food, and water. figure i should just give her time. she stopped crying, so that's good

she comes out for treats but then goes back in

when i lay on the floor and call her she'll come out for a minute and then go back in and back and forth. she let me rub her and was kneading my belly at one point so thats good. i picked her up and put her in the litter box and she scrambled away but hopefully she'll get the point

she came out a couple times on her own. she gets scared of noises though. hoping she explores during the night and then tomorrow while i'm at work. she definitely made big steps. i really hope tomorrow morning she'll come out because i need to wash her eyes and give her her drops 2x a day. it won't happen tonight, so the last time was around noon. the vet tech showed me how and was so happy to see her get adopted. told me he never thought she would because of her eye problems.

she ate wet and dry food (glad i picked ones she likes and they're very healthy too), and she pooped in the litter box so i'd so operation kitty day 1 has been a success even though she's still very timid

i think it's going to be layla nickname "lele" so this way it's both

she is laying in her cat bed :-) good progress today. maybe she'll hop up on the bed.

This is how it happened. There are a few people (including myself) within our circle of friends that have extracted animals from shitty situations via illegal means. These were situations that, if the animal were to be reunited with their "legal owner" then, charges would have to be filed against said owner.

Ian came to acquire Boris via means he wouldn't tell us about, but since he was our friend, we thought his motives were altruistic. In the past 4 months or so, he became really sketchy, and it all seemed to coincide with him starting to date this artsy fartsy girl, exhausting scholarship opportunities and suddenly deciding to move to LA. He ended up owing another friend of ours about 3 months rent and utilities.

Because he was wanting to move out to LA in such a hurry, he was prepared to screw over his roommate by skipping out of the lease, and leaving his cats with people that he knew would end up declawing them. We picked up the slack on his rental obligations and ended up subletting from him (a decision which has a bunch of other bullshit associated with it).

He took the cat to the vet. Thanks to brilliant microchip technology, we were instantly able to learn that Boris's given name is Whiskers and that her family has been looking for her for over a year.

We are so incredibly pissed at him as well as embarrassed by his bullshit. The wife used her rescue connections to try and find Whiskers a home and he fucked Erica over by proxy. Why? Well, there's no logical reason that I can discern. If he extracted Whiskers from a crappy situation, why was he content to just hand her right back over to her family?

It makes me sad and pissed off and happy that it will be a while before I see that fucker's face again.

hey layla slept with me! and now she's playing with a catnip toy. she even ate some breakfast today. i dont know if she's just scared but she seems to eat very little. still gets scared when i make noise. so sweet.

she freaked out when i held her to wash her face but as soon as i got the cloth on her face she calmed down, i guess she realized what i was doing. and i gave her the eye drops. yay

She'll get used to you after a while. One of my cats was scared of CEILING FANS when I brought them home. Poor lil guy just arched his back and hissed at the ceiling. It takes a while.

she seems so happy. it's heartwarming. i gave her drops again when i got home from work and she opened her eyes a little more but now they're mostly closed again. poor baby

she's definitely warmed up to me, chilling on the bed and on my lap and playing with toys and pooping in the right place
