I know I'm a little late to the party but I just now started listening to Merriweather Post Pavillion. It's not immediately overwhelming awesome like everyone made it out be BUT that song My Girls is pretty killer. Plus there's a lot of good parts on the record. It's a little psychedelic but nothing really makes me cringe on it. Overall very solid.

StrawberryJam is still my fave because it's the first one I spent a lot of time with and I remember hardcore and i listening to it on repeat when he visited, which is a fond memory.
I first liked Feels though but years after it was a big deal because I'm late. I liked the last two but don't love them or anything. They were coming to KC in May but postponed it to October. I'm interested to see what an AC show is like. I'd love it if they pulled out Reverend Green, as that is my fave song, but they probably won't. |

Strawberry Jam is also my favorite of theirs.
I used to really like them but don't really listen to them much anymore. Today's Supernatural from the last album is really good though. That's just a band that probably just connected with better back in college. |

there's nothing really to 'get', i don't think.
i mean, you don't have to try hard to get pleasure out of listening to them - they have just as many well-crafted and catchy 'pop' songs, as they have glitchy 'out there' tracks. |

i really used to love them and i still do but i didn't really like merriweather and centipede hz wasn't very good at all.
i also saw them for the 5th or so time a few weeks back and i didn't enjoy it much. i'm afraid their best days are behind them. Spirit they've gone, Feels, Sung Tongs are all great. |

haven't really dug an album since Strawberry Jam, but I thought their set at Bonnaroo was far and away the best I've heard/seen them play. live versions of Brothersport are ridiculous, and they played Did You See the Words and Purple Bottle

I don't like this band. I should like them, but I really don't. Sorry Animal Collective.

I am a huge fan of Campfire Songs. I think it is possibly their best record

my point was that late era black dice and early animal collective sort of merged together it would be funny to think that they could be the same band. also beaches and canyons is an album experience of sides. couldn't imagine listening to mp3s of this much. definitely a living room album. an ex-gf has my copy and i want it back from time to time. |

SJ may not be as great as some of their other work but i´ve always loved it.
I never really got how Merriweather got so much praise. |
