Default Do we know who Obscured, Brian 'That Tab Guy' Is?

And has he ever been properly been thanked for his contribution to the Smashing Pumpkins community?

They interviewed him on the Smashing Pumpkins' site in 2008/2009 when they wrote daily articles about Smashing Pumpkins related topics. I remember nothing about it, other than him saying "Daydream" was the hardest song to tab.

This guy and that dude hosting deep cuts from his Oslo-based university network were more important Pumpkins figures to my childhood than Jimmy's heroin connec'.

I quite liked all the little puzzles when something new was released, I think a '90 show came out through having to find it on the server with little clues!

there was also a plume, who shared one mp3 a day, until they got to him. i think he was in the middle of sharing mashed potatoes when his site shut down.

The original SPAA was created by Josh Provost and in 1996 hosted by me on a machine available through pastichio.ct.utwente.nl.

https://www.starla.org/history/spaa2/

Jeroen van Beersum (jeroen_underscore_vb) hosted the NSPAA for a while, also from
the university of Twente if I recall correctly.

Brian popped up on the SP Reddit like a year ago. Said he had a bunch of new and updated tabs but wasn't sure if SPFC was still the place to send 'em.

It occurs to me that I've already been corrected on this point, but my (seemingly false) memory has been entrenched.

NSPAA....now there's a name I've not heard in a long time.

I used to hold a tape deck up to computer speakers to record pre-gish songs from the RA files. Still have the tape it's really stupid but in times of need you have to survive.

i remember one time i called my dad to let him know where i was at (this was during the summer) and i said i was at X girls house using her computer and he goes "does she have keyboard prints on her ass?"

like come on man can't a guy just attempt to record a decent version of psychodelic for later?
